Thread: AIM Mosquito

  1. #1

    Default AIM Mosquito

The other day I received an order from Dave at AIM. I thanked him for the new models and asked if he would consider makeing a model of the Mosquito. He replied a few days later that he pulled out a mold he has and is working on the new model. He sent me another mail asking which version do I think people would want as there are some differences in each version. The versions he mentioned were the Recon/Fighter/Night fighter and bomber. So here I am asking what version you would like ?
    I would think
    1. Fighter
    2. Bomber
    3. Recon
    4. night fighter
Input from all is welcome so I can pass this off to Dave.

I was on the fence for fighter or bomber first. Now I have to say bomber first. Hope to hear more from others.

    I'de go with:-
    1. Fighter
    2. Bomber (Fighter Bomber?)
    3. Recon.
    4. Night Fighter

    My list goes...

    1. Bomber
    2. night fighter
    3. recon
    4. fighter

Glad you prompted Dave. He seemed willing when I mentioned he do a Mosquito a couple months ago.

Some photo-reconnaissance Mosquitos were converted to bombers and vice versa. The fighter. fighter-bomber and night-fighter Mosquitos were superficially similar, so, perhaps there is only a need for two models - a glazed nosed model and a solid nosed one.

Of course, if you want models carrying rockets, a Mollins gun, a torpedo or a Highball bouncing bomber, that is a different matter.

I'll be all over these like a rash! Dare we hope for more than one version? After all Dave does various flavours of other aircraft.

    In order of preference:

    1. Fighter
    2. Bomber
    3. Recon
    4. Night fighter

Thanks for the input. I will pass this on to Dave and hopefully we can have a Mosquito soon. I also passed this on to Kevin MISCMINI so he might look into decals for Misquito units.

Received a reply from Kevin (MISCMINI) that he has one set for the Mossie (305 Sqdrn) and is working on others. Just checked and see it is a Polish Sqdrn. Nice

Received my latest AIM order this week and Dave says he might have a Mosquito next month. I think the bomber version. When I find out I will post the info so get your list together.

I just put in an order and mentioned how I look forward to getting some Mosquitos. Every nudge helps!

I told Dave I think there would some interest in those planes. I will hold off my next order to see if he gets them done.

Think I’ll hold off for a bit too. This will definitely fill a gap in the market.

I second that as I still have AIM Hurricanes and Lancasters to start let alone finish. Yes I'm a bit behind with the aero stuff as all my receny spare time has been chewed up by 15mm Napoleonic Prussians and 6mm ACW.

I have an order from him I hope gets here tomorrow. No new planes but additions to what I have. Hope the Mosquito is done in Dec. Will be a nice Christmas present.

Bob, working on a Mosquito bomber and Mosquito fighter-bomber.

OK guys just got this from Dave (AIM) today. So we may have the plane in the next few weeks. I said there would be much interest in these planes so I do hope there is and he will get a few orders for his efforts to get us these planes.

Knowing the guys behind the scenes I would guess the new Mossie is a derivative of the one I was given . . . seems like yesterday . . . https://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sh...=pour+mosquito

I click on the link and a pic comes up. I will try again but it is two models on the Squadron/Signal book on the Mosquito.

Here's the Mosquito story from Ron to me years ago, started my venture into resin molding with his help and permission. He left me with a resin Mossie to try my skills on . . .

Received an email from Kevin (MISCMINI) that he received a model from Dave (AIM) to use to scale decals for the Mossie. We may see a Mosquito sooner then I thought.
