Got a reply from Dave today, which made interesting reading:

    Steve, thank you for input.

I do have a very nice master of the Fw-200 Condor and I have a model of the Sunderland that I received permission to copy from Ron Crawford (HBM).

I am working on a Typhoon and Tempest and hope to have them done by the end of this month.

I started preliminary work on the Do-335 and when I get more time I believe that it will be a really nice and accurate model as compared to what is out there."

    Something to look forward to.

And for those of you in the U.K. with a branch of "The Works" near you, pop in and pick up this little gem. Absolute bargain for six squids.

Thanks to all for their input to Dave on what we want.

Peter you gave him a great list. BTW ZVEZDA makes a Ju 52 (I have 3) in 1/200 that is pretty nice. Glad to hear for you and Steve about the replies you received. A Fw 200 CONDOR VERY NICE.

I know Zveda has Ju52s, I also have 3. (not yet put together) I thought planting the seed for the variants could be a good thing. I would prefer Dave's as I wouldn't have to put them together!

    Default Zvezda 1:200 kits.

I also have three JU 52's and also four of the Zvesda C47 Dakota look alikes to complete. Already have eight Zvezda JU88's completed painted and played with a number of times. A nice little kit and easy to put together. Must try to find some time to start on the JU 52 and C 47 kits.

I got a few Mossies but sadly am in a painting frenzy for Cold Wars in March so I won't get to them till after the show.

looking forward to seeing your finished models Andy. Looks like you have a few opponents for them?

Yes, Peter. Six Gustavs - nicely crafted by David. Wing tips and rudder - fine quality!

They are first in the painting queue after the Prague Con minis, Bob. I am eager to make them really extraordinary and sure my group will love them in play!

Have a new order in with Dave and he said he is working on a Ki 44/P66 and Typhoon. Not sure about the P66 but the Ki 44 sounds good. The Typhoon was mainly a ground attack plane so maybe 1 or 2 in your force would be good.

Well I AM sure about the P-66: it was one of the three fighter types fighting the Ki-44 (and Ki-43) in the 1943 skies of China. I'll certainly need some to help my P-43s and P-40s.
I hear Kevin is doing more Chinese roundels, so we can start finsihing our Chinese air forces. Mine has these three fighter types (once the P-66s have arrived) and two bomber types: Lockheed Hudson and Tupolev SB.

    Cheers

P-66 will be a good addition. I have a couple Shapeways but AIM will be much better. Good to hear Kevin will be making some Chinese roundels. My Chinese Air Force is waiting for roundels. P-43s, P-26s, I-153s, I-16s....

P-66 was one I was not familiar with. It fills a niche people are looking for and that is what counts. The Chinese roundels I have are for the P-40 so he has them but for another plane.

I have a set of AVG decals from Kevin but those are slated for P-40s. I was thinking of getting another set or two just for the Chinese roundels but now if Kevin is doing a set for the Chinese thats even better.

Of course, the Ki-44 is in the now who-knows-when WGS series 7.

If AIM makes them I will buy some. If ARES makes them I will buy some. No, I don't have a problem.

I think it saw a bit of service in China.

Wiki says they served in China, Burma, The Philippines and Korea. Also Home defense, and on both sides of the Chinese Civil War post '45.

Good plane to get then. Gives a few other ways to get them in play.
