I was quite taken by the amazing modeling of the battlefields and narratives in the war museums in the NZ. This is the battle story tool at the Te Papa museum in Wellington, done by Peter Jackson's crew - very impressive! Makes me wonder . . .
The battle of Gallipoli was being illustrated . . . the upper graphic does the usual explaining, while sitting below was a topographical model with the site in relief. As the narrative progressed, overhead projectors imaged the terrain details, trees etc. whilst a video was projected of troop movements and engagements - all very awesome! Makes me wonder . . .
Then there were the giant terrain models . . . 1 meter x 3 meters! outstanding detail!
Then a few blocks away at the Imperial War Museum . . . .
