Well, thought I'd start October with a pair of Bristol's - so here they are:

Repaints of Headlam's & Askell's HD Bristol, I used Revell 42 Olive yellow and Humbrol grey 64 for the main bits, left the underside for now. As they looked so alike from a distance I marked them A & B simply to match their rear gun configuration !

Thanks Pete- it's a visual aid for the show games as much as anything else.

Just so long as any planes marked 'C' are not fitted with a rear-firing Antiaircraft gun!

OK, part two of a commission Bolt Action Blue Division I am doing for someone. Had to rework the Med arty (better pic also) and added 2 ATG, 3 more squads, and some support units.

Puts done to this project...now three more on my table before I can do my own stuff again.Attachment 234348Attachment 234349

Well, it's more like my 2017 bench. Two little ones, more-than-full-time job, etc. Just not enough time for hobby stuff. I'm sure many of you fine ladies and gents can understand and commiserate.

I am trying to figure out my own take on a battle mat for wings. I really like the bas-relief mats that I have seen on the forum here, as well as the full on 3-D ones using the interlocking foam pads. Is there a thread somewhere that already exists discussing different play surfaces? Searching the forum came up with either bupkis or with every post that has the words "game" or "mat" or "maps" ANYWHERE in the post. Any advise you fine folks can give me would be greatly appreciated! I will post a picture of my test mat later this week for some feedback. Happy crafting everyone!

Quick and dirty mat has always been a OD green wool army blanket for wargaming. Got a few pop stains on it now but that just adds character.

It is always great to see what people are doing to make their own terrain. You get great ideas from others. 150 feet of floral wire and clump foliage can make a lot of trees.

Managed to finish this AIM balloon up for my buddy Jim (rhodie80) and gave it to him on Wednesday at our twice-monthly Paint Night.

These Parsival-Sigsfeld balloons from Armanents in Miniature are really nice and go together with a minimum of fuss. You have to add the peg, but a Dremel makes that really simple. And AIM provides the pieces for the basket, and all you have to do is clean it up and glue it together. This is the third AIM balloon I've done, and I have another for myself to paint up. It may make this thread later in the month...

    All the best,
    Matt

Nice job Matt. I do like the AIM models. MISCMINI has been busy with his decals so now I have to get my Ann's done and finish putting decals on the MC200's I have.

Decided to go a bit Japanese this month, first time I have done any.

So far finished 6 Zeros and a couple of Yokosuka Ohkas. All AIM models and MiscMini decals (Extradecal provided the wing lining). Next up is an Emily, and I need to get on with ordering some decals for the Kates and Oscars.

Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!

The PTO is not my area of interest, Steve, but I do love what you've done here! Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with.

Nice job by both of you. I have my MC 200's and Cant Z's painted just waiting to put decals on them. Was away for a few days but now home so I can work on them.

Glueing figurines for Lost Patrol on leisure Sat .
Must confess making them in different dynamic poses was a lot of fun, truly! Great stuff, GW.
