Thread: Wings Therapy !

  1. #1

    Default Wings Therapy !

Good mate of mine has been poorly recently with one thing or another and just to add to his woes he has prolapsed a disc on his back. He has been going stir crazy at home but managed to get round for a game the other day.
I knew it had to be a quick game so ran him through the kill the recon scenario that we ran at Colours 2017.
I ran the two seater - an Albatros C.I in this case - and the Eindecker that would come to its rescue and he ran a pair of RFC Nieuport 11's.

Basically the two seater is tooling along taking photos flying straights and stalls when it gets bounced by the scouts - once the shooting starts the two -seater can return fire and will run for home - the supporting scout will appear after the shooting starts. If the two seater escapes he wins, if not he loses. Simple.

It went really well, he managed to do significant damage to the two-seater with one scout before it lost the gun duel

and the second then slipped in for the coup de grāce, the gunner jamming at the death.

The Eindecker got some shots in but also had a jam which stopped it being effective and in the end, mission accomplished, the surviving N.11 chose to run rather than tangle with it - And the meds were wearing off !

My mate left with a smile on his face if not a spring in his step and we hope more therapy can be applied in the coming weeks.

Great job there, Squadron Leader Sir!

I remember how stir-crazy I became when I slipped two discs at work, around 15 years ago........................
I got so antsy I defied the M.O. and went back to work two weeks early!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

What a good way to provide a bit of therapy. I'm sure your mate will be back for more of that kind.

Short and sweet, and really good therapy, I am sure.
    Nicely done, Dave.

    Love your smoke effects.

Real pipe cleaner wound around a nail, Pete, left natural for smoke, yellow & black for flames.
May try the balloon scenario next time.

I do have some that I bought a couple of years ago in anticipation of getting into WGS (as my WGF ones are too big, I think)
I will try your "wrap around a nail" trick and see how they look.

I use half a straight one for signifying engine damage in OTT, I think they look a little better than the craft ones but they're not as long.
