For me the serials were broadcast on Sunday mornings and often interfered with church service (Rats). Flash Gordon followed by Commando Cody! Later when in college WGN TV out of Chicago showed the serials at midnight. There were any groggy early morning classes at the Frat house I can tell you

Amazing! Reminds me of my first Star Trek Enterprise model, that came with a lighting kit. But, you did a much better build.

Just watched the first 5 episodes, quite fun! Only a few ships though . . . : (

I too used to watch Flash Gordon on Saturday morning television as a child. They were part of what were called 'Cliffhanger Serials' because of the way each episode (apart from the last) ended with one or more of the heroes in deadly peril. They escaped at the start of the next episode, of course. I now have the adventures on dvd.
