Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Shorter lower wing looks RE8 to me.
Fairly sure its an R.E.8 but i'm happy to be corrected , Either way looks good!
I have to check where I get my coins and get one. Thanks for the notice.
Reminds me of the Gallagher joke about Canadian coin: "On one side it has the Queen; you think 'That's nice'. Look at the other side -- it has a beaver! What the hell glory is there in First Place if Second Place went to a beaver!?"
Great to see WW1 being commemorated in such a way!
Yes definitely a RE 8.
Thank you for the 'heads up', Tim.
My daughter collects these, I will set her on the case !
Nice one.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Fantastic! I'm really pleased; I think my grandfather would have been very proud to know that the efforts of the RFC/RAF were still being acknowledged and recognized a hundred years on in a such a public and prominent way.
Beaver...what ..where?
Reminds me of having to lick stamps...
Not sure about licking beaver though?
Will def be getting at least one £2 coin for keeps .....if i can afford it!
NICE
Looks like there may be several WWI related coins on the stocks.

Can only find the two at the moment & the £2 one listed as "The only official UK coin commemorating aviators of the First World War" on the Royal Mint site.
You can have in 22 carat gold for 830 quid, double thickness with sterling silver for £110, sterling silver £67.50, uncirculated standard for a tenner, or look in your change !
There is another commemorative WW1 coin too:

Wondering if these are in circulation yet, or will be by Doncaster.

Just went o the silver shop last night and picked up a random 1 oz coin for the battle of Jutland. Has Cook islands and the queen on the front and a British battlewagon and battle of Jutland on the back with a color film in the upper left quadrant. Nice addition for a battle I am always looking into.
I have collected coins for quite a while, and it's great when I get a nice "historically correct" coin................
It's a pain when the coin "research" is flawed; my WW2 Royal Navy collection has a nice "HMS Ark Royal" from 1933, but the full-colour data card proudly displays a beautiful portrait of the 1982 'through deck cruiser' pseudo-aircraft carrier!
Multiple "Battle of Britain" Spitfires with Mk V wings and cannon...........................
Worst of all, the coin commemorating the Battle of Halfaya Pass in 1942 has a lovely depiction of a 6 pdr anti-tank gun, engaging a pair of Tiger tanks.....................(Tigers, in Africa in 1942???? NO!!!!!!! 11 in Tunisia in 1943, yes....)
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
Very nice when are they coming out?
