I intend to be there but how long I last will, as ever, be in the lap of the Gods.
Had the quack look at my hip and it's sort of good news/bad news in that there's nothing wrong with the joint (good), it's just an extention of my chronic back pain associated with the 48 year old amputation (bad). So now it's painkillers and Ibuprofen gel.

Look on the bright side Chris. If your friend finds out you just (publicly) called him stupid he might decide to dispense with your God-Fathering role in favour of someone else.
We will miss you if you can't make it.

All mine know better than to arrange things without notifying me first, and never to expect anything during the re-enactment season.

Just a quick reminder, I shall fighting the fuzzy wuzzies in the morning, someone may need to pop over to tell me when the table is free to set up for WW2 desert action.

Basic scenario, Stukas with 109e escorts attacking target near Tobruk, while Hurricane IIb Hurribombers and IIb fighter escorts attack targets near Tobruk. What could possibly go wrong?.......
A game for up to 8 players, can be done with 6. One plane per player is optimum.
Squadron Orders/ Staffel Befehlen will be posted at the beginning of the game.

Just back from Partizan, absolutely knackered but had a great time again.
Thanks to Tim for a cracking 1916 scenario, I joined late and handed my aircraft over to a newbie after half an hour or so, but it was a hell of a game.
Thanks also to Ruth and the girls for helping me run the afternoon game, and for coaching a couple of new players, young and old, through the mysteries of WGS and for shooting me down ( I did shoot one of my daughters down first).
I will be posting pictures later.

    Had a great time today
Flying a Gunbus in the morning , trying to catch Trev's EIII whilst being chased by Tim's EIV. Unfortunately I couldn't get the Fokker off my tail !! Went down in a blaze of glory.
Hurricane Bomber in the afternoon got on target but forgot to drop the bombs ! ended up being shot down by Amy ( my own daughter !!! )
So fun day all round .

    yes, I stole his kill

I marked it on the Kill Sheet as a shared victory though.
Oh, and it was being flown by my youngest daughter Hannah.

    Bad daddy
    Anyway, back to the report.
Three of us then ganged up on Trev (Brambo) who seemed to be having trouble flying in a straight line (to much Schnapps?!!)
    Name: pic009.jpg
Views: 72

The Chap flying the Hurribomber with the green dot bombed one of the German encampments causing 50% damage, unfortunately the Hurricanes only have gun cameras so no image is available.
Immediately thereafter my eldest daughter Amy avenged her fallen sister and blew me out of the sky
    Name: pic010.jpg
Views: 73

Another young chap who was being coached by Amy shot down the green Hurribomber which crashed into the same target he had earlier bombed, finishing off the job.

the following picture shows the overall state of play at this point, with Trev, having finally lined his Stuka up perfectly on the British supply convoy, having a senior moment and veering off to the left (Schnapps)
    Name: pic011a.jpg
Views: 70
Size: 93.1 KB
shotly thereafter, daughter number one murdered yet another parent.... her own mother, who was circling back for another attempt to bomb her target
    Name: pic013.jpg
Views: 70
Size: 77.5 KB
Trev is now eyeing up the convoy, but being an unspeakable swine as afore mentioned, I refused to allow him to divebomb on a turn
    Name: pic014.jpg
Views: 73

the sole remaining Hurricane escort, got up close and very personal, causing much damage from the rear, forceing Trev to attempt an illegal card resulting in a BOOM chit
    Name: pic015.jpg
Views: 65
Size: 94.1 KB.
At this point, given the distances between the 109s and the remaining Hurricane, with real time taken into account I called an end to the game.
The British had successfully destroyed one of the two ground targets, while the Germans failed to damage either of theirs, but the Germans had shot down 3/4 of the British force so overall a draw (just). there were complaints and calls for a stewards enquiry, but its that unspeakable swine thing.

    finally, Amy's score card

Three kills for no damage, Iron Cross First Class for that methinks.
And an Aerodrome polo shirt next time Rob orders a batch.
