Very nice. Another idea on how to paint windows.
Good show there Reg with the Beauforts and 'Schwalbe', very REP worthy.
Thanks for the Rep Guys.
Very much appreciated.
Windows are German Grey with Silver highlights. First time I've tried this combination and it don't look at all bad.

Hope you like, and yes...the 12 slingers in the middle are unbased. They were extras he was selling to a buddy who would base them himself to match his army.
Here are seven planes I finished up in June for a scenario at Origins. The first picture shows a combined Marinefeldjasta/Seefrosta flight which was supposed to stop a group of RNAS DH4s escorted by assorted RNAS Camels.
The Sachsenberg DVII was a simple touch-up - lower wing edges and tail edges were simply painted. If I am repainting a plane and changing the color of wings or tail isn't needed, I like to paint the edges to cover the (sometimes glaring) original color before decals were added. The DVIIIs were a bit more substantial - wings repainted and tails, too, with MFJ II stripes added - along with other tiny details. The Siemens-Schuckert was also an easy repaint - wing edges and elevator and tail edges, along with the medium blue stripe and the yellow cowling. The Seefrosta Albatros models were almost completely repainted, with the stripe on the one and the chick-and-egg (for Gerhard Hubrich) being painted on. I really like the naval options for planes, scant though the info is at times...
Here's a top-down view of Raymond Collishaw's Camel which he flew as commander of the Seaplane Protection Squadron (per the instructions for the new Wingnut Wings Camel BR1) - a pretty complete repaint of the Barker Camel, with Collishaw's initial being painted on. This one flew, along with the three other RNAS Camels Ares produces, to shepherd four RNAS DH4s (simple repaints of the Cadbury/Leckie DH4) to their target and back.
Hopefully and can get a few more finished before June ends...
All the best,
Matt
Love the Marinefliegrkorps formation Matt, very effective. Having painted up some myself I understand the research difficulties.
How did the battle play out? AAR to follow?
Matt those are really sick looking. What a job. Fantastic.
Had to look up "Seefrosta"; hadn't seen that term before.

there was no instruction on the box, only this:
but it does seem that New-ray screwed up somewhere and miss-labled a spitfire mk.ix as a mk.viii, but i have been unable to find any date on spitfire mk.ix with clipped wingtips fighting in north africa. But the previous data i mentioned about the pilot and markings i got from a website Here: http://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Spitfire/...145Sqn-ZX.html
I went through our Comox Air Force Museum Library, and there were a few very good Spitfire books. The Mk IX was produced in the fall of '42, and the North African Campaign ended in June '43. None of the Mk IXs made it to the MTO before North Africa was all done. Many squadrons were transitioning to Mk IXs as they entered the Italian penisula. So, New-ray messed this up. It is a 145 Squadron Spitfire Mk IX erroneously presented in desert camouflage as a Mk.VIII.
With the below Spitfire Variants drawing, I can now cobble together any version of a Spitfire, including a clipped-wing Mk.VIII that supposedly never existed in WWII:

Well it is a toy so I guess we have to take that into consideration. I have a few of them just for display but they do make a P-38 in 1/200 so now I have 2 of them.
Just received an order from Dave (AIM) today and it included decals for a plane I have painted so I should get a photo up tomorrow of it.
Here is the other one I painted OD along with the silver one.

While digging through a box with my planes I found I had extra Russian Hurricanes (4). I decided to repaint them and Kevin (MISCMINI) had decals for #6 Squadron. I know they aren't IID's but painted 2 of them (so far) for that squadron.

Yes, nicely done, Bob!

I much prefer the colour of your Maus, Dave!

I agree on the Blue Mouse's color, Tim - I like this lighter blue version - very similar to the F-Toys model. Well played, Dave!
Your AIM B-29s are very nice, Bob, as are your DAF Hurricanes! I am already planning on painting up some DAF planes myself, and seeing yours makes me want to get started on mine - and doing some AIM bombers is also in my future... Although I don't think B-29s are in my future, as I have no interest in the Pacific.
Thanks for the continued inspiration, folks!
All the best,
Matt
Really nice job Dave - looks stunning

lots of Atlantic Wall stuff for Bolt Action.
pics to follow,
See you on the Dark Side......
Thanks for the card Mike. Looks good to go with the planes.
Matt, I don't know why but started building up a Japanese Pacific force. I have the official planes but have been getting some AIM planes to build the Japanese forces up. I have Claude's/Betty's/Nell's/Sally's/Nate's/Oscar's (painted) and 3 Ann's to paint. Just got 3 TBF's and repainted 2 Martlett's.
The decals are from Kevin (MISCMINI) and are for the CVE- USS Petrof Bay. I found I had all these extra planes so going for some Pacific themed planes.
Again the photos show areas to be touched up.

I wanted to get the struts painted black and white before our bi-weekly Paint Night this evening so I could begin on the black and white dazzle scheme for the fuselage. The wings are PC-10 on top and CDL on bottom, while the fuselage is off-white. Model is from Shapeways, and when this Felixstowe is finished I might need to do another one...
Here's a picture of the finished Wingnut Wings version in 1/32nd scale on which I am basing my 1/144th version.
An ambitious project, to be sure, but I think the end result will be nifty if I can pull it off. I will probably have to simplify the dazzle scheme a smidge...we'll see
All the best,
Matt
I know what you mean about getting another one. Seems you get just one and say let me do that in another scheme. I think that's a good idea (like the B-29 and B-24's I just ordered).
Gee Matt; don't get dazzle-happy on us
