Currently nearing completion of 6 off (2 Flights) of 217 Squadron Beauforts for use at Doncaster; Convoy Attack Game.. Then I have to get on with re-decalling (is that a proper word?) 3 Beaufighter escorts and 4 x JU88's in the long range fighter role to join the three I already have to be use as part of the convoy protection units.
Photos will be posted when I have finished them. The Beauforts that is!

Six new bombers on their way from the land of elves . . . strange, two of them seem to have an extra dorsal turret, and the white ones are getting rockets? I think the elves have been out in the heat too much . . . .

OK -- the rocket-equipped ones are RAF Coastal Command _Liberator Mk. V_s, most likely; the dual-dorsal turrets are XB-41s, the "escort fighter" version of the B-24 (never used operationally).

Giving my cats paintbrushes: What part of "part-Siamese" was unclear? :)

16 aircraft cards completed. Only two were 100% original, one needed a correction to the tail, the rest were changes to stats to make them in accordance with the latest in the stats spreadsheet, plus changes to markings and cammo. I also checked a few that didn't need changes.

My thanks to Jager, MaxHeadroom, Guntruck, and Oldguy59.

I'll put them in an album in a few days. Ideally, I'd like one generic version for every single kind of unofficial aircraft eventually, in one convenient location.

Not "parasol" -- the wings touch the fuselage. Those are "gull" wings.

Well here are the 2 AIM SALLY's. The decals are from MISCMINI. I thought this would be a good camo for planes flying over the jungle. It is similar to the pattern on Japanese tanks.

Great job on the WESPE. Like the way you took the paint off to show it worn.

    Max,
Not sure how to say this. It doesn't look anything like the box art. You missed that entirely.

And it is pretty grubby. Not very well taken care of, at all.

Actually, an excellent job of weathering and wear! Kudos.

Well the paint called out for an early (shown on box) and a late version, and I went for the late version.

I used the same weathering technique on my armor models that I use on my aircraft, so lots of washes and chalk powder!

Lovely work here, lads, and the month is not quite half-over yet! I managed to finish up my planes needed for Origins scenarios - I will post pics after the convention. Keep those inspiring pieces of modelling magnificence coming...

    All the best,

Marvelous wordsmithing, Matt! Agree totally with the sentiment.

Good luck at Origins, and looking forward to pictures of your event.

With my latest AIM delivery my workbench is full of bombers - 3 Wellingtons, 3 Beauforts, 2 Marylands, 3 SM79s, 3 BR20s, 2 SB-2s, 1 Ju 88A and 1 Ju 52. Three days off next week, I might get a chance to finish a project or two.

    Default 1/144 scale B-26s, B-24s, and Ki-43s

Somebody wanted 1/144 scale B-26s built and painted. Decals for Flak Bait were included in two of the kits. I used the nose art decal for Flak Bait as well as the stars from the kit decal sheets. I made decals for nose art, squadron/aircraft letters, and serial numbers for the other three models. From the 449th Bomb Squadron - Flak Bait, Sit N Git, Ginger, and Murder, Inc. I have basic graphics and plans for eight more 449th BS B-26s. Intent is to have full sheets for 1/200 and smaller scale models and nose art, SN, and squadron/AC # for 1/144 decal sheets.

They also wanted three sister ships for the 1/144 Minicraft kit of the B-24, Sharon D. B-24 kits didn't have any decals. The stars are I-94 decals and the rest are Miscellaneous Miniature decals.

And some Ki-43s from the 64th Sentai. The fuselage stripe is a kit decal. The hinomaru, arrow, and tail number are Miscellaneous Miniature decals.

Now to work on some Polish and Italian squadron markings.
