Richard Schwab organized two very exciting and action packed games using the WWII rules with his impressive collection of 1/144th scale models. The first mission saw me leading a small formation of B.17's towards a fighter drome Nazi in occupied France as part of the build up to Operation Overlord; this put us (just) within the maximum range of RAF Spitfires, and our "Little Friends" provided some very good cover against the swarms of angry Luftwaffe fighters set to intercept.
"Gee I hope the Luftwaffe is taking a day off today"
"Pilot to crew, OK everyone keep the chatter down and watch out for those fighters"
Fighters, 12 o'clock level!
"Ball turret, I got fighters all over me"
"I swear that guy had blue eyes"
Got get 'em, little friends!
And suddenly the sky is clear again, God Bless the RAF!
"Pilot to Bombardier, we're over the IP you have control of the airplane"
"Roger that, bomb doors open, Bombs away!"
Photo recon confirms target 50% damaged and all 'forts returned safely to base
