I'm looking for a couple of book recommendations. WWI air war history/accounts that are not to heavy on details but readable and informative. As an example I really enjoyed Duel of Eagles by Peter Townsend which is of course a Battle of Britian book. Thank you in advance.

    Not too heavy, but readable.

Any of Osprey Publishing's Aircraft of the Aces series.

    Sagittarius Rising by Cecil Lewis

Horses Don't Fly by Frederick Libby

    Aces High by Alan Clark

Aces Falling and Bloody April, both by Peter Hart, are very good.

I read some (most) of Aces High and would recommend it.

Try, Dog Fight: Aerial Tactics of the Aces of World War I by Norman Franks.

An easy read and enjoyable. New & used from Amazon.com and used from Barnesandnoble.com

I know it is already on the list, but having recently finished it I would highly reccomend The Red Baron Beyond the Legend by Peter Kilduff. a not to in depth history of MvR but it also gives an insight to the greatest Pilot of all time as well as the formation of the Staffels and Geschwaders

Yep...I like all of the stuff Osprey does...they're short, concise, nicely illustrated...and pricey for what you get. But they cover everything from ancient Rome to modern days with everything in between...and did I mention they're nicely illustrated?
