Also, over on the Sails of Glory site, I posted a Sails Participant card (Link: Sails of Glory.org - OldGuy59's Card Album), in case anyone is running Sails games.

Anyone want Ace Skill Cards to give away?

I am thinking about attending my first OGF. Is it something inexperienced players can participate in, learn and have fun, or is it really competitive and for advanced players? If it is for all levels, where do I find information about hotels and signing up for game participation?

Oh this is for all ages and experience levels (sometimes, the less experienced. the better ).
Best place is to check the Origins site:

yeah, they sell out pretty quickly. id keep checking because a lot of people book multiple rooms for contingency. there end up being a few cancellations so keep checking!

Optionally, set your sight a bit further out, and figure on parking.
    Not the best option, but.....

Thanks for the advice Karl and Phillip. I thought I read somewhere that an airplane comes with the admission price to a game. Does that mean I don't need to bring my own aircraft.

You don't have to bring anything. The folks here supply everything. The best advice is to jump in and have fun. Do not be concerned with winning or losing. You will find that the pleasure of playing with the folks who gather is already a win, let alone the time spent with folks from the 'Drome.

There are often prizes; each game is somewhat different as to what is handed out, if anything.
