I have read somewhere that the German Navy stopped using single seater aircraft in favour of 2 seaters? as I want to get a German Navy plane that would that would have been in service late 1916 early 1917. Thanks

My guess: Hansa-Brandenburg W.12?
Card: Guntruck's - Central Powers Aircraft Cards: H-B W.12

The land based component of the Marienenfliger made heavy use of Fokker D.VIIs late in the war.
Seaplane fighters did go from 1916 single seaters such as the HB KDW https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hansa-Brandenburg_KDW and 1917 CC https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hansa-Brandenburg_CC , Albatros W4 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albatros_W.4 and Rumpler 6B https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumpler_6B , to 1918 two seaters, such as the HB W19 biplane and HB W29 monoplane, and Friedrichshafen FF33L.
Shapeways make most or all of these.
For 1916-17 the floatplane/seaplane fighters were single seaters, but there was a plethora of Gotha, Rumpler, etc two seat patrol aircraft.
So for fighters you have a choice of single seater Albatros W4 or HB KDW floatplanes, or HB CC seaplanes. The two seater HB W12 entered service in mid 1917.
For other aircraft, FF33E or the two Ago C.II Ws in 1916.

Albatros W.4 was in there from June 16 to December 17.
The land-based Marineflieger in Flanders flew everything from Eindeckers to Fokker DVIIs, as Zoe mentions (although I've seen no reference to Fokker DrIs), so if you want to use any of those, you're probably good. As far as seaplanes goes, once the Hansa-Brandenburg W12s and W29s come on the scene, they are seen as superior to anything the sea-based Marineflieger had been flying before...
There are lots of cool naval color schemes and options
All the best,
Matt
Thank you all for your help. Doug
