Today, I drove down the highway to Nanaimo to put on a demo of Wings of Glory for the FLGS Curious Comics.
Set-up in the Country Club Mall:
Me, trying to scare away any potential players:

The demo board (I only brought Duel Pack planes today):

Me, shooting down Don, my first of two customers on the day, in our first game:
(Image from Arie at Curious) Don flew the Camel, and I flew von Richthofen.
Payback. Don riddled my SPAD, and I couldn't get a bead on his D.Va. Even the shots I did get on him were not effective.
Even Don having two gun jams didn't help. He lit me up, and before he could finish me off with bullets, the flames took me out.
I had another afternoon session with a fellow gamer from Comox, who came down to Nanaimo to play. We each took a victory with the two games we played. A few curious people stopped by to ask question about the game, and we regaled them with WWI history and aviation stories, as well as a few tips on the game.
Thanks to Mike and Arie from Curious Comics for their support and organizing the day, and to the Country Club Center staff (Tables, chairs and appropriate coloured table cloths provided by the Center), who were very friendly and supportive, too. Shameless plug: Kudos to Kaldi Cafe for their tasty sustenance.
