Thread: Store redesign

    Default Store redesign

With Shapeways allowing multiple scales and materials in one sale page, but not multipacks (yet), I have started redesigning how my site works.
All single planes are in one page, with the scales and materials. Multipacks are listed off of that page, and hidden.

Here are the French planes as an example:
    https://www.shapeways.com/shops/foz?...200+French&s=0

Is this easier, helpful or dire?

    Thanks,
    Steve

It looks like a good page design to me. You'll get some whiners about it (well may not you, but Shapeways), but I think it works.

    Thank you.
It's a lot less cluttered. But I'm worried people won't read and find the mulitpacks if they want them.

Looks good, easy to use. FUD prices are a bit scary these days though.........

Looks good to me. I think you made it pretty obvious the mulit sets were on the individual page, and it was easy to spot.

    Well designed, Steve.

I like the way you've sorted them out in your shop! A while back I gathered all the different scales for each plane under one product, but I haven't done much useful with the "sections".

How do you plan to classify a plane that was designed in one country but mostly used by another (e.g., P-39 Airacobra)?

I assume you're using the "marketplace facets" to classify them by scale, period, country, and type? That really helps your products come to the top when people use the new search page https://www.shapeways.com/marketplac...ures/aircraft/.

That is down to our rather dire exchange rate currently, I'm sorry to say.

I'm going to sort the planes in to new categories once I've tidied more. Most likely along the lines of who used them as well as who manufactured them.
Currently I'm sorting mine in to /Marketplace/Gamed/Tabletop & Wargaming, it seemed more logical, be less granular. I'll keep an eye on that bit.

As for the rest of the comments, thanks chaps It's taken a weight off.

Steve, did you ever do any more test prints with that black acrylic material? If so, how did they come out?

I like the index by scale then nationality, makes things easier to find.

Nope, not had anything done in BHDA yet. I still don't like the spruing rules and that it's $5 per part.
Sticking to FUD for the moment.

Thank you. I've actually been trying to work out an even better way.
