The Fokker T.V was a "Luchtkruiser" (airocruiser), actually a light bomber. The Dutch had 9 (!) of those in May 1940 ...

Let's see how they turn out ...

    cheers,
    Guus

Can't wait to see it finished, Guus.
Where did you get it from? It must be a rare miniature...

    Hi Andy,
they are from the Dutch firm "geromy" (www.geromybv.nl). They (or rather he, 'cause it's a one man operation ...) specialise in Dutch airforce planes (in various scales) ... so not many models ...
They also sell (Dutch) decals and books (also in English).

    cheers,

I am with Andy can't wait to see the finished product. You have to get them into a game and do an AA report.

Looking at my AIRfile book -Pearl Harbor to Coral Sea- it shows the following for the Dutch East Indies:
    Brewster Buffalo
    Hurricans
    Curtis Hawk 75A-7
    Martin WH-3 strange looking plane
    Curtis-Wright CW21B
    Ryan STM
Good luck if you find them and get them in the air

These little buggers have my attention at the moment.

For some reason I am having difficulty getting the colours right for Battle of Britain scheme. So far everything seems just a bit too dark to me. I'm using Vellojo Model Air paints for RLM 65/70/71 or 71.255 / 71.015 / 71.021 respectively.

    RLM 65/70/71

These colours are very right. Splinter camo. Sharp edges.
The best way to obtain it is to use a good tape (like Tamiya) and an airbush.
Below are the AIM 1:200 Do-17 models I painted in such a scheme using Pactra authentic colours.

For Hurricanes I'll use the 605 Sqn RAF, based at Java, the Curtiss Hawk 75A-7 is coming.
I will not do the Curtiss-Wright CW21b, nor will I do a Ryan STM (trainer)

Guus, is this the giant Dornier flying boat showed in the museum near Driebergen (?), The Netherlands? I visited the museum in 1997, a great place indeed!

    Soesterberg. Corrected.

Yes Andy, that's the one ... the Dornier D.24K

The Airforce Museum you visited has now closed. A part of the collection (alas not all of it, a lot went into storage) is currently in the new National Military Museum (which opened two (?) years back).
This museum is also located at Soesterberg on the grounds of the former Soesterberg Airbase. Quite close to where you have been, just a few kilometers on the other side / across the motorway.
    Absolutely worth a visit !

    cheers,
    Guus

It's the Martin B-10 bomber (Model 166). Main notable feature of it is the enclosed nose turret, the first of its kind.

Here are two pictures I took at the G. L. Martin museum when I was there. It is Middle River, MD at the Glenn L. Martin Airport which is also a ANG base. One is a quilt of a B-10 and the other is a model that is on display with other planes. Took these while there to see the B-17 Memphis Belle.

ZVEZDA has a number of 1/144 planes for the game they make. I wish they would come out with some French and Polish since they have a lot of early war stuff for the Germans/British and Russian. Their models for the game are strange. Infantry-1/72, armor-1/100 (15mm), planes are 1/200 for 2 engine and 1/144 for single engine.

This has been explained before somewhere; the model is designed to fit into a single hex on the game board, so bigger items have to be in a smaller scale in order to still fit in.

Yes it has been posted before about the different scales they use. Haven't played the game but the models are pretty good and easy to build. Any info on the game if you have played it Tim.

Well, EBGRoDD (Evil Black & Green Rifle of Dooming Death) is mechanically complete, but still on the bench waiting for a few finishing touches...
    --procure and install Blast Deflector
--procure timing washers and install new flash-arresting brake
--install rail section and foregrip/bipod/light unit
--install forward sling mount upon arrival
--install folding grip and ambi safety
    --paint and install handguard covers

    And then...
--research and spec out His & Hers M16/C7 or M4/C8 "service-rifle clone" set for the GF
--procure jigs and router for completing 80% receivers

    Oh, you mean Wings/Sails...
--find CAD-modeler who can convert Greenwich draughts into 3d models, then carve them up into individual components for part-manufacturing on SGN108, 201, 111 and 112 hull replacements
Historical Consultant/Researcher, Wings and Sails lines - Unless stated otherwise, all comments are personal opinion only and NOT official Ares policy.

Undersides done in GW Screaming Skull (used to be Bleached Bone) for cdl finish.

This was an easy conversion if you are considering one. The filling did not come out quite as smooth as I wanted but it doesn't detract from the finished article & those with more experience will get a better result I'm sure.
Now have another bombing option to put on the table !
