"zet 'm op ... witte muizen !" (strijdkreet van 1e JaVa, Luchtvaart Afdeling, Nederland 1940)
"let's go get them ... white mice !" (battlecry of the 1st Fighter Group, Army Air Force, Netherlands 1940)
Can't wait to see it finished, Guus.
Where did you get it from? It must be a rare miniature...

Hi Andy,
they are from the Dutch firm "geromy" (www.geromybv.nl). They (or rather he, 'cause it's a one man operation ...) specialise in Dutch airforce planes (in various scales) ... so not many models ...
They also sell (Dutch) decals and books (also in English).
cheers,
Guus

I am with Andy can't wait to see the finished product. You have to get them into a game and do an AA report.
I'll try and be a bit quick .... but these ones have the three colour camo scheme ...
cheers,

Do not rush my friend. Take your time to create the great paint jobs you have done on the other ones.
After this, the Netherlands East Indies Air Force? (Which included Dornier flying boats -- uh-huh... uh-huh... *HUH*!?)
Looking at my AIRfile book -Pearl Harbor to Coral Sea- it shows the following for the Dutch East Indies:
Brewster Buffalo
Hurricans
Curtis Hawk 75A-7
Martin WH-3 strange looking plane
Curtis-Wright CW21B
Ryan STM
Good luck if you find them and get them in the air
I have a number of planes to work on this month. I think the first ones should be posted by Sunday.
RLM 65/70/71
These colours are very right. Splinter camo. Sharp edges.
The best way to obtain it is to use a good tape (like Tamiya) and an airbush.
Below are the AIM 1:200 Do-17 models I painted in such a scheme using Pactra authentic colours.

Guus, is this the giant Dornier flying boat showed in the museum near Driebergen (?), The Netherlands? I visited the museum in 1997, a great place indeed!
Soesterberg. Corrected.

Yes Andy, that's the one ... the Dornier D.24K
The Airforce Museum you visited has now closed. A part of the collection (alas not all of it, a lot went into storage) is currently in the new National Military Museum (which opened two (?) years back).
This museum is also located at Soesterberg on the grounds of the former Soesterberg Airbase. Quite close to where you have been, just a few kilometers on the other side / across the motorway.
Absolutely worth a visit !
cheers,
Guus

Guus Outstanding work. You are building up a fine Dutch AF.
Trevor I have 4 of those Ju88 waiting to be built. waiting to see your results to give me insperation.
Andy great paint job on the Do's.
ZVEZDA has a number of 1/144 planes for the game they make. I wish they would come out with some French and Polish since they have a lot of early war stuff for the Germans/British and Russian. Their models for the game are strange. Infantry-1/72, armor-1/100 (15mm), planes are 1/200 for 2 engine and 1/144 for single engine.

Yes it has been posted before about the different scales they use. Haven't played the game but the models are pretty good and easy to build. Any info on the game if you have played it Tim.
I have about 30 aircraft miniatures on the bench waiting for paint. Current project is repainting spare official planes, final Albatros D.Va and a Fokker D. VII under the brush at the moment.

cheers,
Guus

You've done a lovely job on those Tim !

No photos that I can find; best I can manage is this: http://img.wp.scn.ru/camms/ar/110/pics/9_4.jpg , which shows both gun mount locations.
Okay! Good thing I bought 2 DH 89's! By the way they are from Shapeways. I am finishing this one as an air ambulance.
Just moved two more Ares Fokker D.VIIs to the workbench for repainting. After that I have a Camel and two SPADs and that will be it for my spare 'official' WGF miniatures.
I'll be glad when I have finished painting up a 28mm train so I can get back to painting something sensible, ie with a fan on the front........
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
All very nice work
Again can't wait to see the finished product.
Well, EBGRoDD (Evil Black & Green Rifle of Dooming Death) is mechanically complete, but still on the bench waiting for a few finishing touches...
--procure and install Blast Deflector
--procure timing washers and install new flash-arresting brake
--install rail section and foregrip/bipod/light unit
--install forward sling mount upon arrival
--install folding grip and ambi safety
--paint and install handguard covers
And then...
--research and spec out His & Hers M16/C7 or M4/C8 "service-rifle clone" set for the GF
--procure jigs and router for completing 80% receivers
Oh, you mean Wings/Sails...
--find CAD-modeler who can convert Greenwich draughts into 3d models, then carve them up into individual components for part-manufacturing on SGN108, 201, 111 and 112 hull replacements
Got a couple of Costes Strutters for m'birthday a few days ago for the purpose of single seat bomber conversion..this is what I managed to roll out of the hangar after a couple of days:
Removed the rear gun, lopped the head from the gunner & filled with green putty which was rubbed down when dry then painted with Revell 42 Olive Yellow on all the upper surfaces.
Struts, props & tails skid in an old GW Snakenite Leather, roundels from Dom's Decals.
Undersides done in GW Screaming Skull (used to be Bleached Bone) for cdl finish.
This was an easy conversion if you are considering one. The filling did not come out quite as smooth as I wanted but it doesn't detract from the finished article & those with more experience will get a better result I'm sure.
Now have another bombing option to put on the table !

Nicely done Dave for the paint job and conversion.
Nice job on the Sopwiths Dave, I would REP you but the powers that be say I have already given you too much this month.
