Thread: WGF WF03 - Fire in the Clouds (WGF historical scenario for 3-8+ players)

  1. #1

Default WGF WF03 - Fire in the Clouds (WGF historical scenario for 3-8+ players)

Ecourt-St. Quentin, 2 September 1918: The morning brought patchy rain and cloud to the skies over northern France as British and Canadian troops pushed forward towards the Canal du Nord. Above the battlefield the RAF stacked its squadrons to support the advance, with DH.4s escorted by Sopwith Camels at low level and SE.5as providing top cover. About 1100hrs cloud banks separated the RAF formations allowing Jagdgeschwader III (JGIII) to concentrate their force against the low level British aircraft attempting to reconnoitre the German lines.

This is a WGF historical scenario for 8 players (see variants for smaller or greater numbers) requiring two Series 4 SE.5a scouts, one Series 2 Airco DH.4, two Series 1 Sopwith Camels and three Series 2 Fokker D.VIIs.

Another promising solo mission coming up here I feel - thanks Carl.

Mission looks fun but there's a minor typo - "Entente Forces" references a DH.4, but then "Rules Needed" references an RE.8 as the two seat observation craft. Surely either would be well-suited but it probably wouldn't hurt to clarify which you intend.

Good pick up Steve, the scenario requires a DH.4.

Look forward to seeing your AAR Dave. I am going to hold off on this one until I can get a few bodies for a multiplayer session.
