Thread: Unofficial planes generic cards

    Default Unofficial planes generic cards

I'm starting to shamelessly copy other people's old work, mainly Jager's resuscitated versions of Max Headroom's cards, checking and correcting stats to match the v1.0 of the unofficial stats, and posting them temporarily and without indexing or sorting on this album http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/album.php?albumid=3901

I only have an XP machine with windows paint, so some will be a bit rough, but adequate. Only one version of each aircraft type at the moment. Enough to get by, no more. Generic too.

This will be a work in progress. If anyone with more talent and skill would like to take over, please do so. Ideally, there would be a page like the official painting section, with an index and entries containing embedded images in others' albums. All with the correct stats.

Example of how rough these are - but when printed, are adequate.

Thanks Zoe, these are going to be VERY useful.
The quality is more than adequate.

If it's only the stats block I could give it a shot.

    Zoe,
I have been thinking about going back and verifying all my cards, ensuring they are up to date with current USC info. However, I am already way behind on a bunch of projects, so haven't gotten around to redoing previous work. But, it is on my list of "Things I Gotta Do".

Your posted work is good. I would offer to send you my maneuver letters and damage numbers that I use for WWS cards, but I have a bit of an issue with my graphics software, at the moment.

I have recently been crippled by Adobe revoking my Creative Suite license. It appears that the online retailer I purchased my software from was a scammer. So, out a lot of money, and no graphics capability better than MS Paint. Working on a solution, but more money will be involved. (IE: Buying a new license. Again).

    All,
I've been assimilated. I have subscribed to Adobe's Creative Cloud for Illustrator and Photoshop. So, I'm back in business for graphics. For the moment, or until my money runs out. This is another drain on the hobby budget. Yet another subscription that takes away from buying my toys.

The Forum will continue to benefit, though. And graphics are another hobby, too.

    I should stop whining now.

It is, mainly. The A8V is one of the few exceptions. There's a Thai Hayabusa too. But generally, just the stats.

What is the max maneuver letter for WGS decks? Or do we want the whole alphabet?

For those looking at doing up Wings of War WWII custom cards, this alphabet might help: Wings of War WWII Maneuver Alphabet Album

It isn't an exact match, but pretty close. It's what I use for my work (from the image up above, a .png save of my Illustrator file).

Mike, sorry you had creative difficulties, that IS a crisis. Glad it was sorted, but sorry to you are out some bucks.

    The alphabet looks very nice.
