I saw this today
I know this should go in the anchorage site but I had to share it here. Today went to Ft McHenry and while we were leaving I noticed a ship docked a few hundreds away. Next week is fleet week here in Baltimore and they said the Navy's newest destroyer would be there. So here is a picture of the USS Zumwalt. This was as close as we could get and I didn't have my zoom lens with me.

Very expensive. Hard to believe the USN is calling it a DDG.
Wish I had my other camera with the better lens. I saw the pictures on the search page and see the guns are hidden until in use.

Be careful that the F.B.I. don't come calling, Bob. Isn't the U.S.S. Zumwalt supposed to be top secret?
It is going to be in Baltimore Harbor for fleet weeks so I guess its an open secret.
Just read an article about the USS Zumwalt and the Captains name is James Kirk. Pretty nice to have a Captain with that name for such a ultra modern ship. They should have waited until the next carrier named Enterprise was commissioned.
