Sapiens qui vigilat... "He is wise who watches"
Hmm, new deluxe stater set. Plus the reprints of Series 1, 4 and balloons makes me wish I had waited. I could have saved a lot of money.
Just curious. If I get the Second Invasion, since it comes with 5 planes do you think I could sell the planes to off-set getting the Martians and extra decks and counters?
I suppose so... the MvR triplane is a new print, as are the two N.16s. Additionally, both the Weber D.Va and the Fonck S.XIII have been difficult to find and/or way over-priced for some time now. My only concern is that Ball's N.16 and the D.Va and SPAD (and maybe the Dr.I?) will be available for retail sale... so you might be competing in an unfavorable market.
Well here it is from post 34 of this thread https://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sh...e-of-this-site , I have highlighted the interesting bits.....
So reprints of WW1 series 1, 4, 5, Balloons; Tripods & a new campaign pack next year ? Phew !

The Kickstarter has nearly hit $100k and the Red Baron's Last Triplane stretch goal has been achieved. Huzzah!
I love playing the Dr.1 in WoG and while I have all the other MvR tripes already, I certainly don't mind having this one, too.
Very stoked to see how well this KS has done, it's far exceeded my apparently far too modest expectations.
I am VERY happy and excited about the mini and how the campaign turned out. Glory to ARES' Martians!

Is it possible to change from Invasion to Second Invasion?
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Hmmm, so the N.16 schemes will (supposition) also appear in the balloon reprints, and the other schemes in the Series 1 reprint. Very nice! It seems the rest of the bits will be available over the counter in game shops next year as well. Is anything a true KS-only exclusive?
Hs129 with one of the underfuselage cannons (Mk. 101; Mk. 103; BK 3,7).
Then there's "hypothetical" or post-WW2 designs -- DH98 "Tsetse Fly" (57mm cannon -- "if it bites you, you end up taking a permanent nap"); or the Germans developing a "gunsnout" version of one of its twin-engine light bombers....
I'm not certain this is completely true... I can't recall exactly, but I thought Ares claimed that the Ball N.16 would definitely be offered for retail sales post-KS, but I can't remember if that included Navarre's kite. As for the balloon reprints, I seem to remember something about the balloons being sold without aircraft...
...'course, that could just me being daft.
I'll see if I can track down that info.
That's my understanding as well Christopher.
It's a bit hard to understand how the N.16 will otherwise be released. It doesn't fit in a regular series, only as a special one-off with the balloons and now Tripods. I can't see a single fighter being offered on its own. If not with the balloons then how?
Nah .... that would make too much sense!
I wish they had given us something other than Weber - I already have 3 (all acquired from the secondary market)
Fonck I can live with, even though I have 2 already (as above)
Guess I will have to sharpen my repaint skills (or hire somebody)
Yes, mee too. A great many things we are gonna get. I increased my SI as well to have 2 tipods each. And Kissenbert + MvR are superspecial.

Yes, I think Andrea and Roberto have both confirmed this
[QUOTE=Naharaht;462997]I think that there is a good case for the Albatros D.V flown by Friedrich Ritter von Roth, Germany's top balloon busting ace, to be included in the series 1 reprint. Also, it has quite an attractive colour scheme./QUOTE]

Oh, and for info the Molins 6pdr was also widely used on RN coastal forces craft in the mid to late war. Fairmile 'D's in particular often carried one forward, they were also fitted to a number of 72' and 73' craft. Unlike the Tsetse and land based applications which invariably used AP rounds they generally used HE , which were highly effective against enemy coastal craft (I have an interesting report from 1944 on its effects against typical targets, a report that we have only recently dusted off to remind people ow to deal with similar targets). There was also a 4.5" weapon developed on the strengths of the 57mm which gave CF craft an even bigger punch, although being a low velocity round its range was a bit less than desired. Nonetheless it served into the 1950s on MTBs and gunboats.
And of course there was also Roy Cross' excellent artwork from the Airfix mosquito box from the 1970s. My brother made a 6pdr armed MkXVIII as well as an NF.II I think he still has them in his collection. Lovely models.
Very interesting Dave.
I must re equip my Mozzies.

"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
Also useful against aircraft - a Mk XVIII blew the wing off a Ju88 with a 57mm hit during a maritime strike op in March 1944 (1o Ju-88s defending a U boat and four destroyers, four 88s shot down)
Looks like this is forbidden knowledge where you are. Sure you do t live in Pyongyang?
No. It's just Oregon. Been there, escaped from there. Any word on finalizing our KS orders or is it too soon?
