Thread: My Personal Joy!

  1. #1

    Default My Personal Joy!

This just in, my final acquisition to complete my collection! I has taken 5+ years to hunt down, find and buy each release of mini and set to date, the older ones take a bit longer. From far off Hungary, a still wrapped WWII Starter set! Yeah! The elves are thrilled, Mrs Clipper not so much, more to dust! : )

    Impressive find, David
That's why we still have no fans from Hungary

Nice find. I have to look and see if I have this one. I remember having a box like that. Glad you found it.

Looks great David! One of the most beautiful box art I have ever seen. Great acquisition indeed.

Well found David. I've never even seen this one before. What is in it?

First WWII Deluxe set, all the game chits and bits and a green Zero, Yellow nosed Me109, tri-color blue Wildcat and very nice Spit! I have never seen it in person but it shows up in threads and very rarely on E-Bay. Amazed to find it in English in Hungary for its original price! Tag still attached, box still factory sealed!

    Oh yes, I did, Barry!
And I bought this set years ago, still have the original box that serves as a storage for duplicate decks.

Constant vigilance and a dose of obsessive inclusiveness and a paypal account can make it happen! This and my recent minis auction have made me realize how many fans have missed the opportunities that have allowed us to make our goals. I am seriously considering going through my collection of minis and packs and setting a few of my doubles aside for the new collectors . . .

As far as I can tell, that's actually the only Spitfire so far released that's accurately marked for the Battle of Britain (Le Mesurier is an unarmed PR 'Spit, Falkowski has the Sky day fighter band adopted after the BoB was over, and Vybral has the grey and green scheme the RAF switched to in 1941, just as Spitfire Is and IIs were being replaced by Vs) so it's an even better find!

One of the best products ever released for the Wings of War/Glory line. Have you noticed the Messerschmitt Bf-109E7 his a 'Jabo' version with a centreline bomb. Nice touch.

I managed to scoop that one up last year around this time as part of a lot sale from one of the members from downunder.
It will get used at some point, I promise ...
