    Default Repaints

Chaps need some help with some repaints I am in the process of completing.

Se5a Richard Leighton has C on left wing 4 on right wing upper
can anyone say what was on the fuselage? C4 ? or C on one side 4 on the other? Also plane serial number.

    Se5a James McCudden Serial number

Sopwith Snipe Mulcain Fuselage does it have the letter E and a white stripe or just the letter

Thanks in advance for any help

    Chris -

McCuddens SE5a marked as G or 6 with red spinner on prop serial B4891 (earlier plane sans spinner marked G shown as serial B4863)

Lt Mulcair (?) was 43 sqn - in the pics I'm looking at they have two white angled bars, or stripes if you prefer, either side of the roundel like this / O \ D with letter towards tail. Got a pic of that pilot next to 'D' aircraft E8001. Would appear common practice in that sqn to have letters & bars repeated on top plane with angled bars either side of centre: D / \ .
    Is this the same bloke?

It varies with date - the C4 is very early, probably an Se5 not an SE5a, (Edit: it *is* an SE5a, but only for a month....) while there were three variations of markings after that for 56 squadron.

    Profiles for Leighton and McCudden:
    http://www.fun-modellbau.de/ww1-date...RFC/RFC-56.htm

The Leighton one is *very* date-specific (and the coloured band unique to his plane) those markings were pretty much just that month, before the squadron adopted the broad white band near the tail, and aircraft IDs A-R for the squadron. (IDs changed again Jan '18, and unit marking March '18.)

No problem - I've been looking at 56 myself for a bit -trying to get a copy of High In The Empty Blue (the main source for that site) myself at the moment....

Ok guys, I got the info I was looking for my allied pilots, now after a bit of info on three Central powers planes.

Albatros D V Hans Bohning do the strips run along the whole fuelage or just to the Engine block?

Fokker D VII Gotthard Sachensberg again is the Black diamond along the whole fuselage or just a portion?

Lastly Fokker D VII Willi Hippert again the black & white checks whole fuselage or just part way?

Sorry if these seems basic but am trying to do my repaints to the cards in the game.
Also for me Im relatively new on WW1 aviation, main interest is Napoleonic 7 7YW

Any info gratefully received as well as copious ammounts of beer in the mess
