This is First in Flight coffee porter. It commemorates something, which might be controversial.
The brewery writes," In 1901, Gustave Whitehead built his 21st manned aircraft in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He called it the “Condor.” That summer – more than two years before the Wright Brothers – he made history’s first manned, powered, controlled, sustained flight in a heavier-than-air aircraft.
More than a century later, upon conclusion of peer review, both houses of the Connecticut legislature unanimously resolved to commemorate Whitehead’s achievement. The law was signed by Governor Dannel Malloy and took effect on June 26, 2013."
Interestingly there is a non flying replica of Whitehead's Condor in the TAVAS museum at Caboolture in Queensland that Carl_Brisgamer & I have visited.
Apparently there is a flying replica in Germany. I believe Whitehead's name was originally Weiskoff but was Americanised by him.
From Victory Art Brew in Ivanteevka, Moscow comes Alexandr Imperial stout. The label depicts a Lend-Lease Bell P-39 Airacobra, one of the aircraft flown by Soviet Fighter Ace Alexandr Pokryshkin, who transformed Soviet fighter tactics. He was made a Hero of the Soviet Union on three separate occasions (24 May 1943, 24 August 1943, and 19 August 1944). He ended his career as a Marshal of the Soviet Air Force. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Pokryshkin
The Soviet pilots definitely liked the P-39.

Today we have Pyotr Imperial stout - a different strength from the other. It was also available in different 'Barrel Aged' options. It was brewed in honour of the famous Russian pilot Pyotr Nesterov. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyotr_Nesterov
From the Hammer and Forge Brewing Company of Boones Mill, Virginia comes Night Witches Schwarzbier. I have posted the old label and the current one.
Here is a link to the Wikipedia article about the Night Witches.

Surprised there haven't been more Spitfire beers, actually.
Exactly along the lines of what I expected.
Just in time for D-Day.

Given the breweries theme, I would guess that's their inspiration, yes.
