This beer has been brewed to celebrate the R.A.F.'s centenary.
The brewery have written this about it,"To help with the naming of the beer we turned to Baz Dale (Wg Cdr Retired and Director of RAF Benevolent Fund Scotland) for inspiration. After a few beery conversations and some historical research, it was clear that the Hurricane was an aircraft that had been hidden in the shadow of the Spitfire for too long! Contrary to popular belief, it was the Hurricane’s stability, turn around time and numbers, not the Spitfire’s speed, agility and grace, that gave the RAF the edge in the Battle of Britain."
From the same brewery there is also:
The brewery's comment about this is," This beer is named after the aircraft flown by Al and Nigel during their RAF careers. The ABV of 6.7% is a nod to 617 Squadron on which they both served. Al and Nigel still manage part-time roles at RAF Lossiemouth as Flight Simulator Instructors training pilots in a Tornado simulator."
Another of their beers is
The brewery's comment about this is," This beer was launched to commemorate the arrival of the Typhoon aircraft to RAF Lossiemouth in 2014. RAF Lossiemouth is one of the largest and busiest fast-jet bases in the UK. It is primarily responsible for maintaining Quick Reaction Alert (Interceptor) North (QRA(I)N) duties, providing crews and aircraft at high states of readiness 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to police UK airspace and to intercept unidentified aircraft."
I think we need a bigger picture for him (or myself) to read
