That .50 calibre machine gun has a huge barrel, Karl.

5x5 Brewing Co. also produce 7.62 Red, an Irish Red Ale named after the calibre of N.A.T.O. small arms ammunition in the 1950's. That ammunition is used by miniguns mounted on helicopters.

Great artwork on these last two offerings, Karl - I had thought about posting something about how big that gun was on the girl's shoulder but decided to refrain...

7.62 is a great caliber indeed - a bit more stopping power than 5.56. But those .50 caliber beauties are the bee's knees... And the A-10's chain gun surpasses them exponentially!

    All the best,
    Matt

I had this one last Saturday; a good cream ale is very hard to find.
Also, the brewery uses it as the base for a whole line of flavored cream ales too:

If you want a larger calibre, there is 40mm Stout. On the 5x5 Brewing website they write about this being the calibre of grenade launchers but in the past it was the calibre of Bofors anti-aircraft gun shells. These were also mounted on AC-130 flying gunships.

Not sure about the beer, but the NATO 7.62mm round was standard up to, at least, the mid '80s, depending on the country using it. I remember retraining on the licensed Canadian version of the Colt AR-15 (5.56mm) when in Europe in '87.
