IIRC, "Blackbird" was the term used for the B-24s that dropped agents and supplies to partisans in the occupied Balkans, from Italy.

From the Great Newsome Brewery, South Frodingham, Hull, East Yorkshire comes Amy's Aviator Ale.
The Amy in question is the Hull-born aviatrix Amy Johnson.

I think that photograph has been faked.
If I remember in the book A Higher Call that they had a bear as a mascot.
Latest visit to the Ace Brewery in Courtenay. I'm looking at doing an occassional game here, on Sundays when they aren't too busy.
Mentioned them a few posts back:

The small side room I'm scoping out for small games with the guys:
Note: The table at the back is a bit small, but I could put a banquet table over it for less intimate games.
Additional Notes: The framed image on the back wall is a pictoral representation of Lt Robert Hampton "Hammy" Grey attacking Japanese war ships. He sunk an excort vessel, winning the Victoria Cross, posthumously. Link: Wikipedia.org - Robert Hampton Gray
The wall mural includes Supermarine Spitfire Mk IXs, one with the markings of a plane flown by local ace James Francis "Stocky" Edwards. Link: Wikipedia.org - James Francis Edwards
The model plane is a Grumman F6F Hellcat in Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm markings, I think. Link: Wikipedia.org - William Henry Atkinson
