In connection with Pegasus Bridge, the Burton Bridge Brewery made Pegasus Piper A.B.V. 4.5%.
The hops in this beer are English Minstrel & French Bouclier.

Bill Millin. born July 1922. As personal piper to 15th Lord Lovatt he piped his fellow commandos onto Sword Beach at the D-Day Landings, as many of them fell around him.

Later that same day he piped the remainder across the heavily defended Pegasus Bridge, where more of them were to fall.

Afterwards, some captured German snipers told him that he had only been spared the same fate as his comrades because they thought he had gone mad.

Appropriately, after the war, Bill worked as a Psychiatric Nurse in Glasgow.

In honor of July 4th I am drinking a new (to me) American IPA from a brewer here in Dayton - we have quite a few small craft brew pubs and facilities here, and I am definitely not complaining! This one is called 'Space Food' and seems a likely fit for the whole BSG phenom...

Pretty tasty, and the IPA helps with my aging, aching knees and elbows... Off to open a new can!

    All the best,
    Matt

They should have gone with the "Buffalo", since that's what Brewster made
