Using German records and No 60 Sqn RFC/RAF by Alex Revell
6Mar17 Ltn. Schäfer-3 Nieuport 16 11.45 Lens, Cité St. Pierre 12
#A.208, 60 Sqn. RFC, 2/Lt. P.S. Joyce, KIA
Two-seater observation aircraft were having a difficult time with the ever aggressive Jastas. The Nieuport of Lt Joyce was fitted with a camera for a photo/recon mission and escorted by 3 members of C flight. Returning to base and within sight of the aerodrome the escort broke off to engage some EA. Joyce never made it back and his body never recovered. Schaffers credit for this victory is in doubt.
30Mar17 Ltn. K. Wolff-4 Nieuport 17 11.45 E. Gavrelle, NW Arras 34
#A.273, 60 Sqn. RFC, Lt. W.P. Garnett, KIA
IAW Alex Revell wrote "Jumped by 10 aircraft of Jasta 2, Lt Garnett was killed by Ltn Kurt Wolfe". I guess Wolf was flying with Jasta 2 at the time since he belonged to Jasta 11.

Later that day a defensive patrol of 6 Nieuports attacked 2 EA one was an red Albatros and sent one down out of control at 1845. Could not verify.

An offensive patrol of 6 Nieuports was attacked by 5 Albatros D.IIIs of Jasta 11. Lt Hervey whose gun had frozen was hit in the engine and spun away and flew back to base was credited to Kurt Wolff. Lts Robertson and Elliot were badly shot up and Robertson was wounded in the hand and was credited to Festner.
MvR the plane I singled out tried to escape six times by various maneuvers. When attempting his seventh, I managed to hit him, engine began to smoke and it went down head first. Lt Smart was burnt to death in the crash.

25May17 Ltn. K. Allmenröder-19 Nieuport 23 10.45 Bois du Vert 152
#A.6778, 60 Sqn. RFC, 2/Lt. W. Gilchrist, POW and WIA
A very confusing fight with 20 German aircraft Gilchrist was shot down.
Squadron 60 was handled very roughly by Jasta 11. The Nieuport was outclassed by the Albatros D.III. The bravery of the British pilots is without doubt. Later when the 60th received the SE5 I cannot find any encounters with Jasta 11.
