Nothing's been announced yet, but it'll be sometime after Series 9. Gut says 4th Qtr or very early '17.
Is there a lot of demand out there for Series 3 other than the Alby? Seems like series 4 is he one everyone is chomping at the bit to get.
agreed - I just saw the series 3 thing on the home page and was wondering if it was real - I could use a few more R.E. 8's

I was really hoping Ares would listen to it's fans, and break the series reprints up. Keep linking scouts and 2 seaters will have left over 2 seaters that cost cash to make, and are sitting in inventory for awhile.

Does anyone know if Brumowski will be reprinted?
I am waiting for those Albatri too. Brumowski and Hautzmeyer will complete my collection
Not the best plane but the best looking IMHO.
I know Brumowski was popular back in the day but the biggest issue with series 3 originally was only one German Albatros D.III (Voss). I think you would get better sales with more Luftstreitskrafte - Von Richthofen red D.III as a must and perhaps a couple of other Jasta 11 kites. Kurt Wolff would be a good candidate given he was the highest scoring pilot during Bloody April. Wolff's Albatros was red with green elevators and tailplane. If an Austrian machine is on the table I would suggest Linke-Crawford's aircraft with the falcon on the fuselage.
If a red DIII belonging to MvRs is done I doubt Brumowski will be reprinted. That would mean two all red DIIIs.
I think they pair up a MvR DIII with Voss.
I'm just after the scouts from S3. 1 or 2 N17 and 1 or 2 DIII.
I have the 2-seaters I need from that series. Waiting for the Rumpler in S4.
Nice 'Robocop' quote, showing your age there Tim!! Original was by far the best - Ronnie Cox, Kurtwood Smith & Miguel Ferrer as baddies - all kinds of awesome.
I am looking forward to some Nieuport 17s as well. One for Albert Ball (red spinner), an Italian job and another French version would do me.
I hope (but doubt) that they go with all new schemes for the models - three German Albs and three RFC N.17/23's would not go amiss. It's not like they're short of subjects.

Saw the reboot for the first time last month.
Meh.
The original was WAY better!
Now whenever I see Kurtwood Smith in ANY film, I expect him to slaughter every other character in the room!
Personally I have a large stash of Nieuport 17s, which, if including my unbuilt Valom boxes, borders on the obscene! I have very little time for repainting now, so any new schemes would be welcome.

You are correct. I wish they would come out with a new marketing strategy. I have no interest in buying another Brumowski. You cannot do an easy repaint with him also just a minor compliant is that the aircraft and the maneuver deck was incorrect but, the are just toys. I would buy the whole set of different planes. My vote would be 3 German D.IIIs.
A new set could include 3 Albatros D.III 153 series with Brumowski and the correct spinner, engine and cards. The series 153 had the 200 hp Austro-Daimler that pushed its maximum speed. THE Italian Front would have another fighter and a lot of fun.
Carl was correct.

I believe the Brumovski Albatros in Series 3 represents his D.III 153.45, the first aircraft he had painted red with skull devices in October 1917. After the initial licence built versions the 153 series did use a 200hp engine instead of the standard 185hp Daimler. The 253 series with more powerful engines did not appear at the front until June 1918 and Brumovski did not actually score any victories in a 253.
Don't get me wrong John I would love to see a series of 253 Oeffag machines. In the meantime they could probably just treated as Albatros D.Va's as far as the game goes.
The Late 153 and 253 would need a whole new sculpt at least on the fuselage; the OAW-Johannisthal D.III's might be doable by mating D.III wings to D.V fuselage (D.V rudder on D.III aircraft, basically).
Otherwise, that's 2 or 3 more sculpts to extend the game's reach...
Now imagine what could have been if the D.Va and 253 design teams had put heads together...
Hoping the Brumowski is one of those reprinted. Just a great look.
I have the e F-Toys ones too. They are nice models
Here is MvR I think

Good God not another Richtofen plane, i cant think of anything more tedious.
Except the Albatros D.III is THE Richthofen aircraft. He scored 24 victories in the type, more than any other aircraft he flew, and it was the type he flew throughout Bloody April 1917. I think Albatros DIII serial 2253/17 (20 kills in April 1917) is a suitable candidate for an Ares miniature.
That's the plan! If I ever get around to it...............

These two are in my wish list for Series 3 Re-printing
The Blau Maus flown by Lt Hermann Frommherz is another aircraft available as an F-toys model.
The third F-toys Albatros D.III was flown by Lt Hermann Goering.
The red and white is very nice and I like the Goering DIII too
I'd like that red-n-white!
Already have 6 blue mice, though

I'm looking forward to this reprint, as I never picked up either a D.III or a Nieuport 17 in the old Nexus days.
Question: I've been reading the threads here at the Aerodrome about the Austrian D.III variants-I had never realized how significantly they outperformed the German versions. Is there any possibility that the eventual reprint might see a revision of the maneuver deck or any "special rules" cards to reflect the improved performance of the Austrian series 153 or 253 D.IIIs?
(As I have just started collecting Italian and A-H aircraft for the game, I would be very happy if there was an opportunity to add high-performance D.IIIs to my collection!)

Ok we've had Series 9 now - is there any update on Series 3 reprints? (foaming at mouth).
