An enjoyable pair of games - thanks to Peter "Teaticket" and Christopher " fast.git" for the concept.
It seemed harder on the Bulldogs this time, although they squeaked out yet another victory ...
(just imagine if the ground units had not been hiding from the rain!)

Ulbricht was one hit away from going down again.

Got my first Ace! Was starting to think it would never happen.

Hopefully Becker is not far behind.
And I just realized ... No BOOM!

A narrow victory for Tommy Pete but plenty of reasons to celebrate as you do, in fact, have two aces in your ranks

Kurt Becker - now Obltn Kurt Becker, awarded Iron Cross 1st Class

Friedrich Schmidt - awarded Iron Cross 1st Class (didn't get promotion this time - rolled a 1)

Let me know what ace skills you would like them to have via PM so I don't miss it.

Well done, a brave effort, but watch your tally.
ET is not a -1 in the crash roll but SD is... but as you missed those out the scores still balanced out correctly !

Ah, I see (said the blind man to his deaf wife) ..
I didn't count Becker's downing of the RE.8 in Mission 20 because it was his own men

The ET calcs were done correctly but written down wrong when transferring to the PowerPoint.
I think I am going to make some better sheets for notes on the pilots - my little notebook doesn't leave enough room for everything I need to keep straight in the results, and for the character storylines.

I will PM you with my selections.

Thank you, Joaquim. Your own AARs are a thing of beauty and inspire me to add little touches to mine.

    Hey Pete!
    Thanks for those words.
    It's a honor.

Nice AAR, Pete! A sharp, close action to be sure... but well-flown by both sides. You're correct that the RFC had a slight advantage, but that follows the results of the (IRL) day.

    REP incoming!

Nice job Pete, REP for you.

If I may be so bold as to offer some historical advice, the Germans did not use the term 'Ace' in the Great War (Ace being a term coined by the French).

The best German pilots were known as 'Kanonen' - literally 'Cannons' but translated as 'Big Guns' or dare I say it 'Top Guns'.

In WW2 the Germans called their most successful pilots 'Experten'.

Knew that - I called myself Kanon Fodder in the old Red Baron computer games

Totally slipped my mind when writing the AAR and using Google Translate to try and simulate German

    Thanks for the Rep

    Thumbs up

    That was another "cracker" Pete!
    Well flown by both sides.
I do enjoy your German translations. Certainly adds flavour to the story!

Fantasic AAR Pete and a nice shooting by Schmidt. To down an SE5a with 4 cards is not easy

Love it Pete. All action too. Mine was very tame by comparison. If you carry on this way I guess I'm going to pick up a lot of German too Thanks for an entertaining read.

Glad you enjoyed it, Mike. Google Translate gets all the credit (and blame) for my attempted German.

I run it backwards as well - one tab for English to German and the other for German to English.
Sometimes that helps get a translation closer to what I hoped to convey.

It's not foolproof, as Carl pointed out.

    Thanks for the rep.

    A most enjoyable treat.
It looked as if the Bulldogs were going to walk it but the comeback by the Germans was nearly good enough to be spectacular. Fortunately not quite spectacular enough!
Congratulations on your men gaining their rewards for the action. I am glad that I won't have to face them on the Italian Front.

Tough fought battle Pete. I was amazed how quickly Schmidt dispatched the SE5a! The Entente pull a narrow win...next time Schmidt will make them pay!

Pete - A really enjoyable read! As others have said I will have to step up my game on the AAR's! Well done.
