Thread: Pour me a few Me 323E's pleze!

Default Pour me a few Me 323E's pleze!

Yeah been down this path before in wood . . .

But can we do them in resin? With cool wing turrets too!

Big molds for big bits! Fuselage block . . .

Best to pour these big guys in stages

Lots of resin! Pour plug on the top, big ugly thing . . .

Managed to get the wheel wells to form! Yea!

Extra resin gets used now days too, you can always use an extra Blue Max

The "squish" part of squish molding : ) thick as a brick

Now for the wing mold, need to get creative here! Long, thin wing, lots of dihedral and six engine nacelles . . . hmm split the mold on the span-wise high point . . . ? First test mold, not too bad . . .

Wing woes, mold is very tricky to fill 100%

    Usable for us though . . .

Worth it to save the engine wing details though!

More worries of lizards trying to fly them or sell me car insurance! The paint cures in minutes, and I like to let it bake a few as well.

A great armada there; I wish I could count on a good sun-baking for my paints. Right now, we're looking at a week of rain and snow in Ohio

They have flown at Origins a couple of times... One of our GMs has a pair (or maybe three?) and runs a scenario trying to resupply Rommel/stop the supplies. They look even more awesome on the table in person.

    Clipper's Crafting is truly outstanding

    All the best,
    Matt

They are impressive. The Spitfire I flew felt like a mosquito (the insect) next to the beast.

Just saw this and they are unreal. Great job as always.
