British Spitfire question . . .

Greetings all, I have a rookie question, just watching and enjoying Foyle's War the third time and love the Spitfire footage, noticed the Czech insignia on the nose, I know a number of Czechoslovakian pilots joined the RAF, but did all the ones brandishing the insignia have Czech pilots?

There were unit markings on Czech squadrons, not all the pilots were Czech though and not all Czech pilots served in the Czech squadrons, so they may have had their own devices on their aircraft if the parent squadron allowed it.

I totaly missed this thread! Which episode it was? I noticed only Polish marking in the second (?) series.
Generally, having a Czech roundel on the nose or a shouldler patch on battle uniform was extremely dangerous. Formally, Czechs were citizens of the Third Reich and Germans did not accept the Geneva Conventions in their case and took them as traitors of the Third Reich (you can imagine consequences...). But still, almost all Czechoslovaks wear them.
