    Default maps to flatten

Does anyone have a way to flatten maps that came with kickstater package?

Table. And books. Big books. Heavy ones, piled high--if you have an encyclopedia set, this is a great use for 'em. Press 'em a bit at a time, leave 'em pressing a few days per section, when done get a couple large cardboard poster backing boards to provided "sandwiched" protection while you go to find a laminator big enough.

Slow and a pain in the arse, but simple enough.

I used mine for the first time last night, after about 30 minutes they seemed to flatten out somewhat. I am wondering if ironing them on a low heat setting prior to rolling them into a tube would work.

I also think Nightbomber's approach of overlaying them with a sheet of perspex is a good one, albeit possibly an expensive one.

After pressing them with big heavy books, cover them either side with clear contact paper. In the long run, makes them rollable, as well.

Place under table pads on dining room table
    forget for a week
    remember not to spill
    remove and roll loosely
    play!

I'd be leery of an iron as it could discolor the poster. I have laid them by a window in the afternoon sun (artwork down), and that tends to speed up the process.

Flatten between two flannel sheets, and iron the sheet, not the poster directly, and it should be O.K.
That's what I'm going to try.
And if it all goes wrong, well, I bought extra maps as kickstarter add-ons! Antici...................................pation!!!!

My Daughter Jenny (who knows these things ) recommended a warm iron over a linen tea towel which will soak up any moisture when ironing.
