    David,
    Welcome to the 'drome.

I'm not close to you, but if you don't find anyone close by, you can join our Skype group of isolated players.

It's meeting almost regularly, now. Next game is 12 March (Link: SND - International Skype Game Invitation - Bust Those Balloons!).

You can spectate, if you aren't sure about joining in. More info on what it is all about can be found here: Skype Players Forum.

Another option is to click on "Community" while on "Forum" page. Once there move to "members list"...then to "search members" and on to "advanced search"...scroll to "state/province"..enter North Carolina...should give you a list that includes 12 members residing in NC...not sure how many are active...send each one a PM (Private Message) and hope for the best. You can also do a little research on each member by highlighting/clicking on their name and check on their latest posts, etc. Good hunting and welcome aboard. By the way, I'll be at a hotel on Nags Head in mid April for 5 days for "Berner Walk on the Beach" and would love to find or create a few hours of gametime. My wife and I own Bernese Mountain Dogs and will be with many others of similar persuasion.

Welcome to the 'Drome, Pappy! I'm a little north, but Darell and Mike have the right of it... Mike's international Skype game is a great way to pick up a game.

Welcome to the 'drome David from East Sussex in England - Not sure how active they are but I remember there were some guys around Raleigh, Keith aka Sparty was there - Bill aka spindoc is in Wilmington. Checkout if there are any clubs or game stores in the area as they'd likely know who plays.

Welcome to the Aerodrome David. My friend knows North Carolina well as he used to be based in Wilmington. Did flight training somewhere called Conway in South Carolina. I am new here too and experienced an extremely warm and friendly welcome.

May I welcome you to the Aerodrome too David from across The Pond. I did used to be based in Wilmington NC for six months flying the HS (BAe) 125-600 business jet and though I never landed there remember Fayetteville very well. Most of my FAA License flight training was done near Myrtle Beach SC at the now defunct NAIA in Conway (Horry County Airport - KHYW) between 1997 - 1998.

We currently have a great number of Members who come from North America and events-wise the place to be appears to be Ohio ... Which is not too far away. May I also ask if you have Reported For Duty which is another excellent way of making yourself known to all of us? I seriously hope you are able to get a game or two in soon although Wings of Glory does play well as a Solitaire / solo game too. This takes some getting used to but take it from me this is where your best learning opportunities lie ready for when you next face a live opponent

    IMHO ... Albatros D.Va

I have one of the three currently available and whenever I have played WGF I seem to end up flying the Albatros most of the time. With the exception of the times I flew a Fokker DR.1 and was shot down by Snoopy (!) as well as my recent outing in a SPAD XIII.

Best is the Fokker DVII - so good, the Allies banned it specifically in the Versailles Treaty!

Next best is the Siemens-Schuckert DIII; next down is a choice between the speed and toughness of the Albatros DVa, or the manoeuvrability (and Coolness!) of the Fokker Dr1 Triplane.
