I suppose I need to get a German English dictionary. My English one is from 1926, so maybe a newer one would be better

For all those interested, I have finally posted the Climging/Diving Turn Maneuver Cards I had on file. They can be found here: WWI Maneuver Deck Climb/Dive Cards

Not all I had, nor all the current decks, but all the speed bands. Also, substitute card suggestions for missing turns or decks.

Of course not, the Dr 1 is a tractor style aircraft.

Rocket-equipped Nieuport 16s were transitioned to training aircraft in July 1917, with Dr.1s appearing in front line service in August 1917...

There was probably some overlap? But other planes used the rockets, I don't have any customized, ATM.

Choices of planes can be (planes I have - Historical, Fall 1917):
    Central: Albatros D.IIIs &D.Vas, Aviatik D.1s, and Fokker Dr.1s.

    Entente: Hanriot HD1, Nieuport 17s & 23s, Sopwith Camels & Triplanes, SPAD VIIs & XIIIs, and SE5as

Initially, the scenario was two CP balloons, defended by scouts and AAA, being attacked by Nieuport 16s with escorts. Alternatively, if we want rockets, but later planes, just designate a plane or two as having rockets? Otherwise, the CP targets are subjected to Incendiary Bullets throughout the game, perhaps limited to designated balloon-buster planes?

I have all of those aircraft so will fly whatever you want me to.
Probably best for me to not be the "Rocketeer" as I have yet to try them out.

Paul - what settings did you use to get them printed close to the actual WoG/WoW deck size ?

    Pete,
I imported the images into an MS Word doc, with lines at 20mm and 88mm down from the top of the page. That should give the right size when printing. When I overlay the card images, they are at 100% on my machine. Hmmm...

Sorry, I used my originals. I downloaded a copy from the Forum, and when I imported it, it came in at 78%. I resized it using the above lines, and I had to make it 45% to fit on the lines. I haven't printed a draft copy to see how that would turn out, but it should be close.

I'm happy with an Aviatik or a Camel depending which side need the players.
Lets just stick to incendiary bullets Mike for the first run through, stops those time line problems

Thanks, Mike, I'll give it a shot.
Picked up some heavier paper to print them off once I get it sorted out.

Played around in Word and got them to something close in draft.
(There were some slight differences in the file sizes)

Going to try the full quality versions next.

    KK,
So, there was some thought to running this as an open game at the FLGS, but I can't get into the store until 10 AM, and that leaves no time to set up. I will run this out of the garage, again.

Just a heads-up, though. One of our cats, Macchiatto, has been very sick recently, and we fear his liver has shut down, or close enough to shut down that he is suffering. Treatment so far has been ineffective, and he is getting worse. We now have to make some pretty hard choices, and emotionally this is difficult.

I may need to cancel at short notice, sorry.

Life goes on, regardless. Or as they say, "Life is what happens while you are making other plans." If there isn't a treatment reason to cancel the game, I am up for hosting. It will take my mind off other things I'd rather not think about.

Game on as per the above schedule, unless I say different. Hope to see you all Saturday.

Do what you have to do: if that means you need to game, I'm in. If you have to cancel, then yeah, go with that. Death issues always suck, and no less for family pets.

The game will not be cancelled, as there will not be any protracted nor complicated treatment plan. Donna and I made the hard decision to morn the loss of Macchi, rather than all suffer a treatment plan that could have been worse than the illness. Also, there was no optimism of a good outcome, only delaying the inevitable, with more traumatic treatments in the foreseeable future.

We are on for 18:00 Zulu (UTC), as planned.

PS: This will not be a memorial game, just another gathering of eagles and a loon.

Great game Mike. Sorry I was late. But 2 balloons (With help from the kindly Hun) and nearly an aircraft plus an AA gun, my sole survivor fly's home a happy chappy.

Nice meeting Sam and Peter, nice to fly against Darryl again pity Paul had tech problems.

Nice to meet you, Neil. The 10 point head start I gave you on the balloon saved your day.

And, Paul, I saved you the need to come back with that BOOM card Mike so nicely pulled for you in you absence.

Thanks for hosting, Mike. It was a good time - especially seeing it was my first against 'real' opponents.

Sorry, guys. I will get to this. I have issues that I'm dealing with.

Neil, the late-comer was the sole survivor for the Entente. Technically, he has two half credits for two balloons, as Sam [zenlizard] did half of the first balloon, and Paul [Stumptonian] (yes, flying for the CP) collided with the second, doing nearly half the balloon's damage in one hit.

I took over Sam's N.17 when he left. In my fervor to get the second balloon, I let Darell get on my tail and drill me for three phases at close range. I dodged the first two attacks, but the third, with +1s took me down. Sorry I wrecked your plane, Sam.

I will post soon. Too many other things going on.

Fortunes of war. Remember, I nearly pulled a Willy Coppens and landed on the first balloon when I tried to rocket it.
