Thread: SS John W. Brown

    Default SS John W. Brown

I posted this in the thread about Warbirds Over the Beach but not sure how many may see it. The WWII Liberty ship SS John W. Brown will be in Norfolk the same weekend as the air show. On Sunday the 22nd the ship will be doing a cruise. I took a cruise out of Baltimore and had a great time. They did a flyover and they say they will be doing one this time. I guess it might be planes from the MAM doing the flyover. You can get more information by going to the SS John W. Brown site.

Interesting John, but not quite the drawing power that the Hermione had last year I'm afraid.

Default 1/700 Model Liberty Ship SS John Brown

If your eyesight is still good you can have a go at one of these. I used to do 1/700 scale in my mis-spent Youth, which I cling on to dearly even though it ended many years ago.....

Yes, it is amazing how BIG 1/144 WOW planes are after you spend so much time modeling the small stuff.

Considering Liberty Ships were supposed to be Highly Expendable....

I posted this if those who live in the area might be interested in a day at sea and see the planes do a flyover. There are only 2 of these left. The Brown in Baltimore and another on the west coast.

West Coat is the Jeremiah O'Brien, in San Fransicko IIRC.
