    Default Up close and personal

Three of us played a scenario last night with the bomber, a Gotha, getting home safely. Unfortunately his escort, me flying a Seimens-Sch, was not so fortunate, done in by fire. The attackers were two Bristols, both flown by one player. One Bristol was still chasing the Gotha as it reached home, but the other one met its demise.
I wonder how differently the scenario would have turned out if one of the Bristols didn't keep landing on the base of the Gotha!!
Another feature of our game was the way guns were jammed on the first shot, and so no damage could be done even though the opposing plane was still within range.
This is my first post. I may never be an ace, but I'm

Welcome to the 'drome Doug from a sunny East Sussex in England today - bloody freezing outside but nice to see the sun for a change ! Sounds like you had a good game between the three of you, those jams can be a nuisance but that's the way the mop flops sometimes.

Welcome to the Aerodrome Doug from Derbyshire: An Anglo-Australian welcome in fact though I now live here in the UK

Sounds like that was a good game - until just recently I was a full-time WW2 / WGS man but I am now learning my way through WW1 / WGF too. You have definitely come to the right place so make yourself at home and if there is anything you need please just ask.

HINT: On obtaining 100 Rep Points you will become an Ace on the Aerodrome so there is plenty of hope as far as this is concerned. One thing we like as a Community is contributors and so this is the key to obtaining enough Rep Points hopefully for this to happen - and you are off to an excellent start

Nice AAR. The Huns won the day with the Gotha arriving home safely.

Thanks for the welcome, gully_raker. There is a group of four of us who get together a lot of Monday nights of the year to fly. Two were experienced WoW/WoG players who got together to fly. The other two of us are friends who have been invited to get involved and are hooked.
