Didn't vote on the first round but both of these would've been in my top three...glad to get another opportunity...and both are very worthy.
1. Ulrich Neckel, Jasta 6
2. Off.Stv. Willi Hippert Jasta 74
Didn't vote on the first round but both of these would've been in my top three...glad to get another opportunity...and both are very worthy.
How, how close could it be!!!
Couldn't be any closer.
Congratulations to both entrants.
The slimmest of slims! Wow, what a finish. A case of no one should have to finish 2nd. I would not want to face those two teamed up in the sky. Rat-ta-tat-tat - OOO, you got me!!!
Well at least I picked a second and third.
That alone was worth the effort.
Congratulations to both participants.

I got First and Fourth.
Once again, very well done, everybody!
I did not imagine that the result would be that close.
Congratulations to the winner!
Great contest. Thank you Herr Oberst!
Mimmi says "thank you" to all supporters!
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Kudos to the winner!
Great job both of them
I've voted for #2 "MIMMI - Off.Stv. Willi Hippert Jasta 74" because I think re-painting an original mini from Ares is harder than building and painting an scale model. It was my first choice all the time. Kudos to you too Sven
Wow that was close! Great job to those two! What was the recourse to another tie? Both painters meet up and duel it out till one is left flying?
I think that only counts as a forced down Sven.

Both winners in my book
Congrats to both of you

Congrats to the winner! Let's call it deuce. Both are perfect repaints

Congratulations, Zirndorf Flight Leader!
I did the same model earlier, but it looks nowhere as good as yours! It may be delegated to the drawer now.
So who produced the well deserved winner ?

Congratulations, Bob!
Yours was my No.1 choice - so glad others agree with me. It really is a gem.

Well done Bob . That was too close to call. Did you have to cast a deciding vote Keith?

Who got second place , come on you can own up now and take your praise.

Congrats to both. Well deserved. I can now see why my entry only got 4 votes. Must do better, must do better, must do be---- ---- ------------ --
Well done, Bob.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Great entry Bob, a deserved win!
I voted after the first day so that my vote, knowing who's minis they were, was not the deciding factor. The last critical vote was redcoon2's vote. When I posted the hour warning yesterday, both entries were tied at 37 votes.
Had there been a 2nd tie, I was going to have to insist that each plane be sent to me for further evaluation and test flights
Congrats Bob!

Congrats Bob. Great entry
One vote apart. Well both are just superb
I say share the wealth between the top 4 because they are all truly excellent.
Congratulations, guys! You both deserved victory!
Sven, is Mimi going to be present at Prague?
Yes. We will see this beauty during Operation Michael.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Congratulations Bob
No matter how you made the diagonal stripes - it must be really hard work to get such a accurate result.
Congrats Sven and Bob! Such beautiful work!
Another great paint job Sven.

Hearty Congratulations to both Bob & Sven!
With only one vote between them it just shows that both those aircraft were really superb examples of painting.
I must admit that I voted for both in the first round but voted for Mimmi in the final vote off.
Congratulations to both of you. Great job and so close!
Well done Bob. A very close race . To all who entered well done, and may the next contest be as well entered
now thats what i call a close vote!!!! better start checking for hanging chads lol grats to the winner and 2nd place!!!!!!
Congratulations to both of you on the closest vote we have had yet. I hope the next contest has as many entries as this one and is another close one.
I agree with the sentiments expressed above - truly wonderful work! Congratualtions, Bob and Sven - your work is an inspiration to all of us.
All the best,
Matt
Well done Bob.
And Sven..... Next time, must try harder (actually out of the two this was my favourite)

Thank you comrades.
The decal set was a Reviresco one.
Beside this I had a lot of work to separate the landing gear, wings and tail section. Then to straighten the structures on the rudder and the wings and to arrange the decals, besides this the Reviresco model seems to be a little bit more slim then the Ares Games version.
The decision for this decal set was simple: The availability, I have a Nexus Games plane card for the model & I thought that Mimmi looks so cude!
If you judge only the craftsmanship I think Mimmi scored more votes then I expected.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Will post Sunday when back in town. Way off the grid atm....

Thank you my friend.
I think is was a 4 hour job with breakes for drying the paint and the decal fix.
Voilą le soleil d'Austerlitz!
