Got my Zeppelin Staaken from the Aerodrome - I'm a bit disappointed that the upper left wing is noticeably darker than the upper right wing - is anyone else seeing this? (Schilling version)

Sorry to see that. The joins in the wings and engines are very noticeable too! It makes my Balsa one look a lot better.

Same here and if that was a diecast model I'd pay about £20 - £25 for it!

I think we have to put it down to a wing replacement after rather heavy flack experienced over London.

I don't quite know what can be done about the seems in the engines without too much filing getting involved ... But if the seem between the wings is a good join I guess a steady hand with the correct Vallejo paint shades would be able to partially rectify this particular problem.

Thing is though these cost in the GBP £40.00 region and if I have just bought a model which costs that much I'm not expecting to be the one who has to paint it! I guess a replacement wing could be a plausibility given the number of Boeing 747s / Airbus A340s I am aware of which have flown with only one winglet in revenue earning service. Or the number of times aircraft have been pressed back into service after a rudder replacement only to spend the next six months riding round with a white rudder - Pakistan International being the worst offenders AND with a Boeing 777-300ER (AP-BHW) which Herpa Wings had just released a 1/500 Scale rendition of during 2008!

My order arrived this morning everything okay including the splendid aerodrome accessories. Se what you mean about the wing and engine joins and the one wing darker than the other. Obviously they could not manufacture one complete wing like the 0/400. The line I am taking is that the aircraft has been repaired after combat damage a true veteran.

Both models are perfect like the other components - top notch!
Zeppelin lozenge colours are smooth and no difference on both wings. Lovely!

    Just wondering ...

Has anybody else noticed that on the Airplane Comparison Chart that the Fokker E.V is specified as being released in 1915? I thought the E.V came out in Summer of 1918. Or am I confused about something?

    Hi Barney,

Just picked up my parcel. It was not the kickstarter, but an F-Toys Goering Albatros which is nice too. Hope you are happy with your growing WWI fleet.

It has been mentioned Eris - further evidence, as if it were needed, that proof reading your product will stop you looking stupid ! I might still frame it and put it on the wall but it has put me off somewhat. maybe I can slice one up and correct it ?!

Well done all you lucky buggers in US, UK & Europe!

So much for the word that Australia would be one of the first to get their models.

Hoping for Monday or Tuesday so can be played at Games night Tuesday.

No sign of anything here in Canberra.

Macchi M5, Fokker E.V, Nieuport 28 and Hannover CL.II are still yet to make it here - see http://www.gamesempire.com.au/index....viewCat&page=4

That's the only FLGS in the country still carrying the range.

Given the problems getting stock from the Overseas wholesalers, I think it will be a long time before any games store here thinks about carrying the range again. Deliveries are delayed until the wholesaler can fill a container - which has been known to take 15 months, though 6 is more common. By that time, the wholesaler is out of stock, so nothing actually makes it out here, unless it's in continuous production for more than a year.

We had the same problem in the Nexus days.

Fooey! That's the second time this week I posted something that was old news. Maybe with my skills I should apply for a job on the Ares proofreading team?

AND I'm definitely putting mine up on my wall anyway. Not only is the poster aesthetically pleasing, but I paid $5 extra for it because I misunderstood the Kickstarter and didn't realize that one was coming for free with every plane!!! (With that in mind, I'm thinking I'll give away at least one of them as a prize the next time I hold a WoG tournament somewhere , or something like that ... )

Ugh. That's awful. Would have been quicker (but perhaps prohibitively expensive) to order them through another forum member and ship them person-to-person.

I can't help but wonder if there's a way to bypass the cumbersome system to which Zoe refers... concerns being, as always, the cost of shipping items half-way around the world and organizing such a thing.

The DH.2, Fokker E.III, Halberstadt D.III, and Morane Saulnier N were the four aircraft which made up Series 5, the first original series Ares released. Since then, we've seen a reprint of the first two Nexus series, and three additional Ares releases (not including the specials: bombers and GIANTS).

As I understand it, Series 9 is in the pipeline (Albatros C.III, Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter, Nieuport N.11, and Phoenix D.I) next, followed by a reprint of Nexus' Series 3 (Albatros D.III, Nieuport N.17, RAF R.E.8, and Ufag C.I)... and then who knows how long it will be before we get any new kites, or the much-anticipated reprint of Series 4 (Nexus) and the "rarer-than-unicorns" S.E.5a.

In other words, I imagine that it's going to be quite some time before we see DH.2s and Fokker E.IIIs.

A Fokker Eindecker E.III or three would do me VERY nicely Ken! You are the bearer of very good news today

Fantastic that they are going to reprint the Airco DH.2 as well given that you are currently searching for one. Cannot wait for the E.III to reappear - one of my favourite WW1 aircraft.
