Thread: Vallejo Colours for British Sky Blue, Duck egg Blue & Duck Egg Green?

  1. #1

Question Vallejo Colours for British Sky Blue, Duck egg Blue & Duck Egg Green?

Can some kind person give me the Vallejo colour codes/names for paints to match the above colours?

Vallejo don't do any colour even CLOSE to duck egg green - a huge disappointment I had when I repainted my 303 Squadron Hurricanes.
I ended up using Tamiya XF-21 "Sky"

    Hi Barry,

Maybe a silly suggestion but have you ever thought of checking for colours here? I know it would cost a bit but one tin would do a lot of planes.

I would love to see these, Tim. Off to see if you have them in an album.

I've looked around a bit, but couldn't find anything. I did see some great Hurricanes on the painting thread, however. The 303 is one squadron colors I would very much like to collect.

Thanks Gary but I think I will just do a mix from my GW & Vallejo paints.

Try this. Find closest manufacturer and than compare:

    Hi Eric

I haven't had time to photograph them yet - I do intend to, and will post an album when I can.
There may be some of them visible in pictures on the Doncaster threads for 2015, where they had their first outing.

    Thumbs up

Thanks, Tim. I look forward to seeing them whenever you have the opportunity to photograph them.

Did you make or purchase any decals specifically for the 303?

I have not yet managed to make my own decals (two failed attempts so far)

I purchased these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-200-1-28...ckSBYMq_vwRbsQ from Matt and Rob Sneddon (Forum members!)

Superb quality; the fuselage decals can be cut out as a single piece (roundel, squadron code, serial number and early Polish symbol) and simply waterslide the multi-decal onto the mini.

Fast, friendly, efficient service - I have purchased over 30 sheets of decals from this duo!

    Thank you, Tim.

Sue and I were talking about making decals earlier this evening. She said printing white is difficult, and that if we want to do so, we'll have to farm it out. Sue mentioned other options to compensate, but not feasible given my skill level.
