Default Bomber pegs vs. flight pegs

Just a quick question to confirm - since my only experience so far is with WWI planes...

Am I correct in assuming that 'heavy fighters' in WWII use the standard flight pegs, while WWII bombers (B-25, He-111, and larger) use the bomber pegs? The reason I ask is I am working on some AIM models metal WWII German planes, and I wanted to affix the correct pegs to the bottom of the planes. Particularly since I'm trying to finish one up for the Bomber Painting Contest...

I only have a couple of WWII fighters in my collection from ARES so far - the pull of the Dark Side has just begun and I am still trying to resist. I know it's somewhat futile and I will succumb to 'more inventory' sooner rather than later, but I can still pretend for a bit...

Thanks in advance for help and advice!

    All the best,
    Matt

    Matt, your assumptions are correct

Dark side it may be but may I take this opportunity to welcome you most warm-heartedly to WGS

I echo Barney's remark. Welcome to the Dark side Matt.
    What took you so long?

Truth be told, Rob, I have been slowly succumbing for a while now - I picked up a 1/200 P-47 bubble-top at the Air Force Museum this past summer, and I have an ARES Spit IX and FW190D-9...as well as some things I snagged from Ron at HBM that I'm looking forward to painting. I recently picked up the RAP for WW2. I just placed a small order with AIM for a couple of German jets and some under-wing 'accessories'...but I have no intention of jumping into WW2 as deeply as I've done with WWI...

My goal is to focus on night-fighting operations, as well as late Med/Italy ('44 - '45).

And I'm looking forward to making a counters box for my WW2 counters and chits...

    All the best, Matt

I know, P-G, I would be tempted by that - heck, my FLGS has three Belgian Hurricanes sitting on a peg right now at a good price and I am resisting the urge to buy them and repaint them...perhaps the 'poison' is spreading...
