Default Pour me some floats for my Avro 504's!

What to do with 4 Avro 504's?

Why not put some floats on two of them?

How this mod got by me I will never know, Mrs Clipper wanted her table back and I found this three-view on an old 2002 SAM magazine, way cool! Now to get the sea elves awake . . .

Now for some serious sea side shenanigans!

Didn't find much in the way of colors, so I made them match the fleet

Very impressive indeed David - especially in 1/144 scale.

I remember the opportunity I once had to construct the floats and assembly for a 1/72 Fairey Seafox and how fiddly that was - managed to do it after three attempts!

Never built a kit of an Avro 504 despite going through a phase of WW1 aircraft in 1/72 scale when I was around thirteen to fifteen years of age ...

Nice work, David. I wonder what the floats did to the Avro 504's performance; as I recall, they didn't have a lot of reserve HP.

They were quite underpowered for sure but made great trainers which made them good seaplane trainers. I made mine single place and used a single gun on a strange mount to make them a little more viable . . .
