PTO Mission 6 - Brothers in Arms - Blackronin
April 12, 1942
Dear father:
I hope that this letter finds you and mother in good health.
It's been a few days since I last wrote you but our squadron has moved from airfield to airfield while we test our planes against the enemy. We are not well seen by our fellow countrymen because we pilot American planes and frankly we like them.
We've been fighting the Chinese and their American allies. I'm proud to say that brother is becoming better and better each day.
Not only his good humour is contagious as he's starting to show leadership skills that older officers would envy.
Today we fought our mirrored images.
Enemy planes of the same type showed up in front of us. Once again I was lucky that brother was with me...
"Big brother?"
"But again?! I told you already not to call me Big Brother when we're on mission Nikou!"
"Yes big brother. Enemies at 12 o'clock level."
"Again... What?... Oh! I see them."
"Big brother. They look like..."
"They do! P-40's! Little brother. Let's engage them head on! They might think that..."
"...We're Americans! Good idea big brother!"
"Let's both target the middle one. With luck we can even the field."
"We're both here, big brother. The field is more than even..."
"Baka! Only the fools think that they're always the best ones."
"Sorry, big brother!"
"Don't call me big brother!"
"But you just called me little brother!"
"Ah!"
"I think that they take us for friends."
"Radio silence now!"
"But big brother, we're using our frequency..."
"Fire, little brother, fire now!"
"I've got him! I've hit him in the cockpit!"
"Well done little brother. Let's reverse and keep at them. We've caught them by surprise."
"They're two Chinese and one American planes."
"They might all be Americans, little brother. Reverse. Now."
"Let's try to put that one down."
"I'll do it. Cover me, big brother."
"Don't be that impulsive!"
"Hai!"
"Baka!"
"The other two are coming for us."
"Here goes more!"
"You getting better, little brother."
"I´ll protect you! Put that one down."
"These P-40's are really, really sturdy. I've hardly scratch it!"
"You'll take it down, little bakemono. Don't do nothing drastic."
"Yes, big brother."
"I think he has engine problems. He's trying to escape."
"That would be good, two against two would be better."
"No big brother! I can take it."
"Don't be a fool. We've got two more."
"I'm not being a fool. I can take it. Can you cover for me?"
"I'm always covering for you."
"That's what big brothers are for."
"I got another one on the cockpit!"
"You're always saying that!"
"I did! I swear it!"
"Then leave that one to me..."
"Outch!"
"Are you alright?!"
"Yes big brother... But he took a big chunk of my plane..."
"Can you still fly?!"
"I can. All is well. You could do something for yourself, big brother, we're not touring here..."
"Ei! Baka!"
"Engine damage. I'm loosing pressure..."
"Can you hold it, big brother?"
"I'll try. Take him quickly or let him go!"
"I'll take him."
"I'll try to keep them guessing..."
"Give me a minute, big brother."
"You've got to be quick. He's escaping."
"No worries, he's coming back..."
"The other two are coming to get you."
"Lucky for you, big brother..."
"Almost there... Almost there..."
"You were right, he's coming back... Baka!"
"What now?!"
"Not you, the American."
"Ah!"
"The other two are trying to surround you. I don't have speed enough..."
"I almost have him, brother!"
"He's coming in my direction... That's good."
"Hei! I've done all the work!"
"Don't be greedy, little brother. Father doesn't approve of that."
"Sorry..."
"I think I have him now!"
"He's bleeding and going down!"
"Well done, little brother. Let's retreat now. You have the other two over you."
"I may even take one more!"
"I will kick you badly if you don't retreat immediately!"
"I'll tell father!"
"And then father will hit you with a bamboo cane!"
"Yes... You're right... Let's leave..."
"I hit him, but I'm badly shaken. My plane is heavily damaged."
"Get out of there, I'll cover for you."
"Thank you big brother."
"Hei! Big brother..."
"Yes?"
"Two kills now!"
"Baka!"
"Let's leave, little brother."
"He's smoking big brother!"
"And your P-40 is breaking apart and my engine can die at any moment."
"You're right. Let's leave, big brother."
"You're wising up..."
"They understood that we're trying to break off."
"Too late for them... Big brother?"
"What?"
"I've got two kills."
"Baka. I'm going to hit you in the head when we land."
"Father wouldn't approve..."

2. Alfonso (Poncho Latour) flown the Chinese/American pilots.
3. Caught by surprise he couldn't fire until fired upon.
