Day one.
The Ace of Aces Trophy previously won by Nightbomber.
Ares donated very generous prizes (thanks Roberto) together with Keith's prize tickets for Aerodrome Products.
Game one.
Commodore Hedeby leads his Squadron into action.
The two Squadrons close.
Cutting the French Line.
Woops! we are entangled. Let's board.
Bad news the next ship in our line has run aboard the leader.
Now my ship joins the queue.
That Hurts! Nearly 50% damage in one collision.
At last we get some serious fire into the Frenchies,
but with all the hull damage, too little too late.
Finally breaking free of the logjam, I rund straight into my Flagship which has come about.
That almost finishes me, and one broadside from the French takes me out of the game.
First round over.
And the winners from the games are!............
Some shots from the other games.
.
Ace of Aces Game.
Covered far better by other people elsewhere.
My superb Gift from the membership.
Day two.
Operation Pedestal.
The Convoy approaches the choke point.
Italian dive bombers close in.
The Carrier responds.
Good shooting by the Fleet AA gunners.
Near misses.
A merchantman cops it, and becomes dead in the water.
More attacks.
The first Merchantman goes down.
Several ships start to get a bashing.
More defenders get off the Carrier.
Stringbags move in.
More attackers go down, before night descends.
Great game thanks Neil.
P.S. All the merchant ships I brought to the game were made by Neil.
Final Game.
Complete with film and soundtrack,
The battle of Britain Commemorative game.
The Armada of German aircraft approaches the coast.
The R.A.F. respond.
The closing units open fire.
Dog fights break out all over the sky.
At the 11th hour Leigh-Mallory-Kyte's Big Wing arrives (late as usual) just in time to turn the tide of battle.
And thus ended an absolutely spiffing weekend.
Thanks to all concerned in the organization and supply of Stotties, sarnies etc.
You know who you are.
Kyte.
