I have noticed how many of the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER fleet and Airbus A380-800 fleets are carrying England Rugby World Cup logos - I think it's three of each.

Airbus A380 A6-EEN on today's EK19 into Manchester overflew Derby not long ago carrying one: These logos as they are spectacular and visible from the ground in many cases.

Any British carriers doing the same ... No.

Actually - no there aren't are there?!

Unlike prior to 1988 when Wembley Stadium used to be adorned with British Caledonian Airways banners - I'm sure it was Wembley.

    You're not wrong David. Astonishing!
The Irish certainly seemed impressed, the headline on Balls.ie reads something like "Irish fans go bat**** mental over Japanese victory" apparently some Japanese guy just did a lap of honour of Cardiff Arms Park on the shoulders of an Irishman!

    Only rugby! lol

Though there were a few non-japanese looking rugby players in their team. . Perhaps they're married to Japanese or have become Japanese citizens. :-)

It was a fantastic game for obvious reasons!! I was surprised Japan rolled the die and played for the win rather than a draw.

    Well done Japan

Great! Rugby seems like a nice sport to practice. It's not that popular in Brazil tho, unfortunately. But if Brazil is participating, and it ends up facing Germany, I hope the score is not 7x1!
    Thanks

It would be 49-7 Nick but that is a match up for the future - both countries have national teams and are yet to make it to the RWC finals !

I caught the final moments of Japan v South Africa - it was outstanding, such determination and passion, and what a result !!

Oh God! Let's see what the future have for us then. Hopefully they will encounter each other someday.

That was an amazing victory by Japan!

Well, it's nearly over, a disastrous campaign for the host nation, only marginally better for the home nations (Scotland were robbed) and the men of the southern hemisphere stand tall having taken all the semi-final spots (bravo Pumas) but, it has to be said, the Wallabies and The All Blacks stand tallest. Good luck to both teams in the final this weekend and I hope they get to showcase the best of what is Rugby Football Union to the world

Sorry to say that I've lost complete interest in this with the host nations lost. I know it's not very sportsmanlike of me.

Even less sportsmanlike ... I have only ever been interested in Emirates sponsoring the event! There are four Airbus A380s marked up with RWC2015 markings - only ever seen two overflying Derby on EK19 Dubai D-> Manchester. However 7 days ago one overflew with Cricket 2015 logos still on the side. Does anybody know what these could have been all about please?

That's the one - Dave. The Carrier placed this logo on four Airbus A380s including A6-EEQ which was the Pele / World Cup 2014 aircraft. Only one Airbus A380 ever carried this snot-green based WC2014 logo: The unsightliness of which lives on in my mainline aircraft collection in 1:400 scale!

Thanks Baz - I shall be a partisan fan - I have long lost family in Oz and in-laws in NZ but no particular bias, just want to see a great game.

With legs like that (the third guy from the right) I'm surprised they let him play!

Thoroughly well deserved victory by the All Blacks!
They have been "the" Rugby team for so many years.
