OK, fair enough. Perhaps a Pt II contest later then.

We have a strict non-discrimination policy that is ELGLM-friendly, endorsed by the Elves, Leprechauns, Gnomes, and Little Men's Chowder & Marching Society.
Little Women are included too, but the name omits them for copyright reasons. So elves are fine.
One thing - the entries are anonymous, so it's the entry being judged, not the entrant. Telegraphing what one is putting in can't always be avoided, but at least try to make it ambiguous. You've been so generous with your TB-3s that if a Zveno TB-3/I-16 combo turned up, it could be from many people. A Ju 290 - well, someone else might have made one, it's not impossible, HBM for example. So yes, that's fine. The important thing is that you enter, as we all want to see your work.
So yes please, clipper, whatever you put in is fine. It's probably impossible to disguise your authorship anyway, you're in a class of your own.
Of course if you don't win, the winner gains super bragging rights, having taken on and beaten the very best.
UPDATE - Oh yes - it only has to be painted during the contest period. An original paint or re-paint of anything you've already cast is fine.

Pictures taken, uploaded, PM sent. So 3 confirmed entries so far, hopefully many more to come.
I know about a min. of 5 entries.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
I don't know about plural, but Sprite is already taken
Hemanja, I for one cannot see a sprite or a spriggan mentioned.
Plenty of Elves,Leprechauns, Gnomes and the Little Men from the Chowder Eating Society.
But there again I suppose it depends on what part of faerie culture you are beholding to.
See you on the Dark Side......
No... I had this Earth in mind

Clipper's in.
Only 2 more days to go, so better Hurri or you'll be Spitting.
Do entries need to be IN by the 14th (i.e. midnight on the 13th) or can they still be posted on the 14th...?
All the best,
Matt
I believe it would be fair to count 14th in. At least I understood it so.
I'm told we have 8 entries in already. This should be good. There's still time for some last-minute ones though, and the more the merrier.
As far as time limit - if it's the 14th according to the server time, that's OK. 14th is the deadline, 15th is too late.
I´ll post mine Saturday.
The one that got away... or at least, the one I didn't enter in the comp. The fish John West rejected, so to speak, though I think it might have gathered more votes than the one I did enter.
B-29A "Untouchable" 224506 of the 768th Bombardment Squadron, 462nd BG "The Hellbirds", Piaradoba, India, 1944. Motto "With Malice Towards Some"
Unfortunately none of the pictures showed the cockpit detail very well.
Original model - a B29A Washington in RAF colours from 1950.
Just send my PM to the Our Captain! I'm in!
And in a very cryptic way, I have to say, thank you Steve (Guntruck)
Just submitted..... Bombs away!
Well done, Quim and Peter! Can not wait to see all the entries!
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Nice!
I'm also itching for it, Andy!
Is it midnight yet?
Is it midnight yet?
Is it midnight yet?
It will be in 17 minutes! But where? Where does it count?! At Zoe's timezone? Keith's? To be in the right timezone or not to be. That is the question...
I think it is dependent on what time your post/pm to Keith reads. If it is within the time frame it is in if not it aint.
Neil
See you on the Dark Side......
It's 10:24 on the 15th locally. So look at the time of this post, and work it out from there. Still a few hours to go I feel.
I would looking at the clock and eeexxxteeeend the deadline if only we could get more entries.
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
This will be exciting to see all the new planes painted up!
So how will this work? Does Oberst open an album of all the entries? Is any Aerodrome member able to vote? Are we allowed to vote or as participants, sit back and chew our fingernails?
Typically, rules are :
Who: Any registered Wings of War Aerodrome member.
What: Painting Contest.
When: (deadline)
Winner chosen by: Community vote.
Rules:
One entry per member
Must be (restriction on type of aircraft)
Must be painted during the contest period.
Previous Wings of Glory Aerodrome painting contest entries (minis) are not eligible.
Voting:
See for example http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/sho...-Voting-part-2!
So...in summary:
Any registered member can vote. If you have a user name and can post on the site, you qualify.
Yes, you can vote for your own entry, though it's best if you judge on merits, regardless of entrant. However, you should not let the fact that it's yours stop you from voting for it, if you think it deserves it. It's not viewed as "unsporting" if it's a genuine and honest opinion.
A new thread is started in the "Competition" section, showing pictures of aircraft, along with a poll. When there are a large number of entrants, you can vote for multiple planes.
Thanks for the info Zoe. Its the first painting contest since I've been active here so its all new and exciting.
Still 4hrs 35 mins before the deadline.
It will then take the Oberst some time to make the thread, check the entries, post the pictures, write about how to vote and what criteria to use, and also put in something about prizes - the prize definition usually happens before the contest starts, but the Oberst has been a bit busy lately.
So while we're all champing at the bit - not least of all me - it may be a day or two before the voting opens, and we can see what the entries are.
I just want to give the Oberst a vote of thanks for getting the comp underway. It's not a trivial amount of work he's doing for all of us.
Yes give the Oberst a few days time to arrange the whole stuff.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
What Zoe and Sven said. It may take some days before we see the entries. In the meantime we may send Herr Oberst some virtual bottles for he is starting his kind duty for us.
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
For me now it's all cool and nice from now on.
The best part is already done, I have one more bomber painted.
Now I'll appreciate the work of my friends, will envy some, applaud all and read the comments about it.
Aaaah?!
When will we start the next painting contest?
How about early in the New Year? Depending upon the Oberst's workload. Hopefully the Kickstarter deliveries will be over (there's a lot of accessories), and I don''t think the new series will be ready before February. If not, we're looking at March at the earliest.
It might just be possible for him to delegate, as I'm concerned that we're running him ragged.
Yes, a big to the Oberst for running this.
How long does the voting typically go on for?
Greeting all,
I'm afraid it's going to be a day or so longer. I've been really sick the last several days and have just not had the energy to pull all this together. I did not even browse the site this weekend I'll try and get it all sorted tonight after work if the 11-12 hour day does not kill me. lol
Sorry about his ladies and gentlemen, I know you have been looking forward to seeing the entries.
Take your time, Keith, we can wait. I hope you can get better soon.
Sorry to hear of your malaise Keith.
I do hope that you are recovered soon.
Rob.
"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
Patience is a virtue.
Take your time, Herr Oberst.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Take your time Keith, your health is more important.
What others said, Keith - there are much more important things in life than our bombing excitement.
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Get well soon Keith. Health is more important. The pictures are there and they are not going any where so don't worry.
See you on the Dark Side......
Take it easy Keith.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
