Thanks for the heads-up Sir, will catch this on I-Player.
Just a quick note having successfully found and watched this documentary: It appears to be on BBC4 on I-Player.
I just searched under S-P-I-T and the results revealed Spitfire Women from those four letters. WELL worth watching. Almost an untold story: Amy Johnson's life and death in 1941 (featured although she flew the Airspeed Oxford and not the Spitfire) put the ATA or RAF Air Transport Auxilliary on the map but not all of it. As this documentary reveals not all of it by far ...
Another doc. to add to my Watch List.
Thanks, gents!
COLD WAR HOT JETS!
Episode 1 of 2 shown on Tuesday night 21:00 UK Time on BBC4.
Will now be available on BBC I-Player (BBC4) and begins with the origins of the Jet Fighter in Britain back in 1941. It's a complete Jet Provost and Gloster Meteor Fest between the end of WW2 and the start of the Cold War. Written and presented by James Holland the programme features John Derry (especially his death at the Farnborough Airshow flying a de Havilland Sea Vixen) Operation Jujitsu Gary Powers and the de Havilland Comet airliner (especially the example preserved at Cosford.)
Episode 2 which I presume will be shown same time next week features the V-Bomber fleet ... Bring It On!
