I am happy to fly whatever you tell me to bring.

I have been there, but Lada was not there. Shop closed, I have seen only front part of LGS. More info may be on Tuesday.
Same as Rob. I'll fly whatever you wish me to and be just as happy when it's shot down.......seems to be a habit of mine!
See you on the Dark Side......
I don't know, but those modest statements sound like a well staged trap to lure some German planes over the trenches.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Once you have a definate date I can trawl the net for flights and hotels. as for planes I'm a bullet magnet whatever I pilot
I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing
We can discuss it - it is not an easy question.
I see two major problems:
- You will probably play only with half of participants (no games with Sven, for example).
- May be there will much bigger group for WGF or WGS and we will have to resolve this problem on the stage.
I do not see a reason why only Czechs. Let's talk about it!
You are very kind, Daniel. My point is to have a campaign with more (easier and shorter) missions, to have a character being developed through the weekend, but I will follow any majority vote no doubt about it.
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Good point Daniel, but I general I have to say, that I'm a servant of the Summer Con.
So I have no problem to organize sidematches like SoG, manage AI planes, only host a mission or participate in a game were pilots are needed, no matter what theater or WW.
I know this costs kills and victory points, but a I'm happy in the first if the participants have max. fun.
If there's a chance to jump into a game, like at my nightbombing mission last year, when I managed the AI bombers and played one nightfighter - I grab it, but if it makes more sense to only host a mission, like at Caproni's revenge with 8 players and altitude rules - it's ok, too.
- Question is, what kind of idea about a campaign everybody has?
- Is it a pilot based campaign (a pilot goes throug random missions and if he survives he gets a bonus) or is it sceanrio based campaing (one theater - starts at early war and ends at late war)?
- I think it depends on the proposed missions, too. Maybe we get enough scenario ideas that can be sorted like a campaign.
- Some missions can't be included into a campaign like coop mission when all games fight on the same side. (FWs versus a B17 Bomber box for example).
- Next question is the duration of a campaign. To strech it over the whole Summer Con seem impractical to me.
- I don't want that anyone has to sacrify his Summer Con sceanrio idea for the campaign - for myself I have no problem to develop and host one campaign mission (WW I or WW II)
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Would it disturb the Campaign, if I were to miss some sessions to take Eileen out sightseeing?
It was my intention to play in some games but not all of them.
Rob.

I repent too much bringing family to sightseeing instead than playing, last time...
I have some little campaign stuff that could produce a quick row of missions, often with a defense side that do not know exactly what the attacker is there for. If anybody will decide to go deeper into that and organize a micro-campaign, please contact me privately and we can exchange a few ideas.
Include time for the Technical Museum which is worth a look

and you cannot miss the Aviation Museum at Kbely

Just give Eileen your credit card

I feel like you chaps , but perhaps a comprimise can be reached if I volunteer Mary for shopping/sightseeing recon duty

A multitude of aircraft kit shops sounds good enough to me ... Makes up for the time I will not be spending at Ufleku! (Cannot drink any more and anyway the last time I was there I was 18!)
Have not asked the Lady Wife if she is up for a spot of sightseeing - I'm more concerned about making sightseeing trips between games and getting lost / missing out when we are supposed to be playing. Therefore we might add an extra day on to our trip for this purpose allowing us to concentrate and focus on playing throughout the event.
PS - Ufleku is / was a famous beer kellar in Prague - I think it still exists and if you do drink it's worth a try
Yes, Barney, this fine pub still exist
Sightseeing: I have two recommendations - we will probably end the Con at Sunday, 12:00. Afternoon should be fine for it. And the second: Old Town and Mala Strana are full of people during the day. The best time for Astronomy clock, Charles bridge and the Castle is late evening or deep night. Believe me...
Honza was in new LGS yesterday and told us in Czech sub forum that it is same size as the old one minus one smaller playing room. Con will probably stay in Svět deskových her shop
Perfect news, Daniel.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Yes, that is true. Lada is our big supporter and possibility of buying new minis during Con is very useful
Today, we will play near the new place (directly in the shop is an event with Matt Leacock). Hope we will post some photos of it soon.
We're gaming too, this night.
19:30 h starts a Twilight Imperium 3rd edition game with the Lazax Option.
6 players.
For Summer Con I have a first sceanrio idea called: Repaint battle.
It's a WGF dogfight mission with the Flying Circus (Fokker Dr.I only) versus a RAF/RNAS squadron (Sopwith Camels or Sopwith Triplanes only).
Altitude rules (level 1 - 5), aim from above, the Circus starts 1 level higher (Hun from the Sun), ressurection yes - but only for 3 planes each side, and a special rule - I you fly with a repaint you can ignore the first gun jam.
For my planed SoG games I had the idea to involve the games partial into the Summer Con scoreboard (winning side etc.), so that the participants have no disadvantage. Just an idea.
Have fun in Prague tonight my friends.

Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Happy gaming tonight, guys.
@Daniel: Be careful! Mr. Leacock will surely have some evolved virus with him!
@ Sven: The "Repaint Battle" is about right for my yellow-blue triplane .
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
I can field my new tripe too.
See you on the Dark Side......
Sopwith or Fokker Tripe, Neil?
I have no Fokker Dr.I repaint, but a nice RNAS Sopwith Camel in the hangar.

Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
About campaign, I strongly support it, so I'll re-post some of my thoughts from page 1.
Day 1 (Friday)
WW2: 2 parallel minor missions
WW1: 2 parallel minor missions
Day 2 (Saturday)
WW2: 2 parallel minor missions
WW1: minor mission AND WW2: minor mission
WW2: major mission
WW1: 1 major mission
Day 3 (Sunday)
WW1: 2 parallel minor missions
This way both wars have equal number of games, and player will have to choose the war only once, in day 2 (if one wants to play both wars).
Player would still have to choose between missions (but not between wars), nevertheless. But this already happened.
And about Repaint Battle(s), I'm in!
I have a lot of repaints, WW1, Polish-Soviet (3 Nieuports each side), SCW (3 republican I-16 only, for now), WW2 and Continuation War. Some of them may be used in campaigns, also.
Do we have a confirmation on the dates yet?
See you on the Dark Side......
Today: photos of new place.
Tommorow: start of doodle voting about date.
Tommorow+week: confirmation of date.
Is it OK, sir?
I created a Doodle form for Con date. Please, vote now, the poll will be closed on 15th October 2016.
Date Voting
The link is even in the very first post of the thread (as all other known important informations).
I see friends playing games, saying how do you do... A great looking place there! Thanks for the pics, Daniel. We are there in 2016 again!
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Air conditioned place? If so, we may have a wider range of dates....
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
I talked about it with Lada and he said he is expecting very hot temperatures, especially in the front of the shop (possibly the third table in case of 20+ participants), during summer. And there are some other date problems (you-know-what and summer camps for me and Kubajs). The answer is: "Please, fill the doodle."
Voted. Only two weekends are out for me.
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Mrs Kyte and myself have voted.
