Default Wings of Glory - Portugal?

    Viva,

    Greetings,

Taking advantage of the general enthusiasm with the new bombers on Kickstarter: there is someone who plays in Lisbon or surroundings?

And take this opportunity to ask if know any store that sells these miniatures.

There was one in Belém, Myrdinns, but I think it is closed.

It was there I started playing WoG and even did some demos for some friends that play Flames of War.

    Thank you Nightbomber.

I don't think I have met Joaquim yet.

I'll have to send him a PM.

You have just faced a typical Mess like joking among the pilots, Joao

All I can say is thank you all and invite you all for a beer or two if you ever come to Portugal.

I live in Sesimbra near the beach so bring the swimsuit!

On behalf of the pilots based here in the U.K. welcome to the Drome Joăo.
I see you have already made the acquaintance of my fellow Squadron Leader and good friend Andy.
With Joaquim as your own Wing co you are moving in high company already.
i had the good fortune to meet up with both of those esteemed Officers when they visited England last year.
The bad news for you is that I together with Mrs Kyte are to visit with Joaquim and his beautiful wife later on this year.
Therefore, you offer of beer will be gladly accepted. I look forward to meeting you in person.
Fly safe and watch your six.

My wife is longing for Lisbon and the lovely fish restaurant near the Salazar Bridge...Maybe we could coordinate our schedules, WingCo?
I am sure Joao and Quim will be very glad to stand us some drinks

Welcome to the Drome from Cape Cod. You came to the right place looking for WOG players. You will definitely have to meet Joaquim. I'm sure he'll show you around the Drome, the solo gaming, email and Skype gaming and all the wealth of info here.

    Bem-vindo no Forum Joao !!

I lived 3.5 years in Oeiras, between Cascais and Lisboa but I moved to Norway last July ... and I have to admit that it was so hard to find those minis in that area. Usually, I ordered mines through e-shops in France, Italy or UK.

    Bom fim-de-semana e até a proxima !

Wow! So many welcomes. Thank you all. This is awesome and incredibly friendly.

It is great that even though you are from different countries everyone seems to know each other (even in person).

    @Kyte
I'll be more than happy to oblige and down some beers with you.

    @Nightbomber
You really need to visit me to have some of the best grilled fish ever, by the beach.

    @Casey
I regret not having met you before.
As for the stores, I know the store in Belém had Wings of Glory. They had the early war fighters (fokker E, airco DH2, etc) which are the ones I can't find anywhere... But I think they are closed now.
Devir Arena in Lisboa has some Wings of War miniatures and they try to order on request.
    What stores did you use?

Normally I use those e-shops to order minis :

    http://www.philibertnet.com/fr/
    http://www.ludikbazar.com/
    http://hobbygiochi.com/category/mini...ings-of-war-1/

but there are many more ...

When I was in Lisboa, I went to a shop, recommended by Joaquim in Telheiras shopping center, not far away from the Lisboa Airport, named "Tabak" where I found few models.

Yes, many of us really do know and met a number of other forumers in person. Because it is a very special place.
Since I had joined the gang in 2011, I was a 2013 Aerodrome Lend Lease programme guest in the U.S.A. at Origins Game Fair, meeting many American players, then in 2012 we started to run our annual event: Prague Summer Con with a great help of the Czech friends (Belgian, English, German, Serbian and Polish players participated). I met Joaquim in Lisbon during my business trip. Took part in the UK Wing National meeting at Doncaster last year (and already booked my stay at Donnie this September), spending some time with UK WingCo honorable Kyte at his place. Just to mention the few.

There are many opportunities to make friends with others even out of the Forum Enjoy!

    Hi folks,

Does anyone know if Tabak still stocks WoG?

It's a bit out of the way, and I should probably use my remaining time in Lisbon to see more museums, but the call to duty is strong.

    Thanks!

I don't know about Tabak but I do know that Devir Arena has stock of some old Wings of War miniatures, both WWI and WWII

I'm away from Portugal for 2.5 years now. I've no idea. Sorry 'bout that.

Thanks Didelet. That would be Devir Arena near Campo Pequeno? That would be less than 1 km from my hotel. Very interesting...

No worries, Casey. The world does not stand still.

Just to follow up, Devir Arena does indeed still have several WWI and II plane packs. Mostly they are WoW ones. They have no box sets on shelf as I bought the last one. Thanks again, folks!

    Well bagged Muerto.
I hope the rest of your time in Portugal proves as productive.
